Go big not go stupid. We have cap space and 8 draft picks. There is a lot of maneuvering that can be done within that framework to get a qb and still build the team.

The defenses dominated the 4th quarter of the GB vs.TB championship game. |

The "we're close" mantra is way too familiar to me. We have heard that many times throughout Snyder's ownership. Maybe it's because Snyder asks the executives he hires "Are we close yet?" on a daily basis. You see, he just doesn't have the patience for a team build. That's because he's also a dumb shit fan like us. And now we're all excited about making the playoffs and we're ready to fall for Snyder's same old ignorant "we're close" bullshit until he personally selects his next disastrous man-crush QB.
I hear what youre saying .. as fans we think "were close" based on a scintilla of positive news, see going 7-9 in a historically bad NFCE. But .. I think you need to define "close". Close to what? Challenging the Chiefs as an NFL perennial powerhouse? no we arent that, not even close. Challenging for the NFCE the next 3 years? Yes, I think we are close to that given the current state of affairs around the NFCE. My belief is you need to make the playoffs to win the playoffs. The more times were in the playoffs, the chances we make a run increases. if we can make the playoffs 3 out of the next 5 years, that is worth spending draft capital. This team has a 5 year window to perennially win the NFCE. Weve been "waiting" and saving cap money and draft picks .. at some point you have to go all in. The time is now. ----- OK -- lol just saw your A-Aron post. we can dream. |

True, but I don't think our defense takes a step back if get any of those QBs. Hell, even if we have to trade Allen or Payne (I think it will likely be Allen), we get Matty I. back in that D-line. |
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
You trade DL ALL DAY for a QB., Not even close

I think the price for Rodgers in a trade would be as high as the price for Watson. |

Yeah he's only on the list if Mahomes is the trade lol |

Fine, but no Sweat or Young. We'd still have Matty I if we shipped off Payne or Allen. |
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
AR would never come here. SF is where he would go. He has always wanted to be a 49er.

I'll have to chew on that thought for a while. |
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
I'd rather draft a QB. But at 19, I don't see us getting 1 of the big 4. I go back and forth on Mac Jones and he might be gone too. Will probably take just as much capital or more to trade up than to get Stafford. Risky game to wait to the draft to fix the QB issue.

Not saying you are advocating this approach, but this is a terrible idea. Even Mahomes needed a competent defense to win a title last year. Neglecting any area of the team in favor of the "stud qb wins titles" approach would be a bad idea. |
