He's basically a shorter Antonio Gates playing on the flank. IE big body with long arms that knows how to fight for the ball when it's in the air. Separation Skills -2 - "Not a blazer but a strong route runner and flashes some savvy in this area. Does a nice job of setting up defenders within stem to gain initial leverage. Doesn't explode out of breaks with lateral cuts but has enough body control to create separation. Flashes head and shoulder at the top of stem to freeze defenders. Sells double moves well. Can uncover against zone coverage and has a natural feel for soft spots. Does a nice job of coming back down the chute with hooks, curls etc. " Big play ability -2 - "Possesses enough top-end speed to get behind coverage. Tracks the deep ball extremely well and displays the size, strength and leaping ability to win one-on-one down field battles. Not overly elusive after the catch but a strong runner that can break tackles and pick up extra yards. Flashes an effective straight-arm. " |

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Btw I went to buy some of the NFL draft magazines, I love the Pro Football Weekly one, they now have positions separated into small categories
Example; Before they would have DE. Now they have 3-4 DE, 4-3 DE, Pass rush specialist, 5 Technique, Base Ends. Also it breaks down the teams as to what kind of offense and defense they run and shows the prospects that fit what each team runs both offensively and defensively. For us they say Kyle Shanahan runs a Base Scheme of: Precision Matchup and a Blocking Style: Stretch zone For Haslett's defense it has Base Scheme of: reactive 3-4 and Coverage style of: Press-man good stuff though! |
Kiper doesn’t see the move as giving away draft picks. Rather he views it as the Redskins making a serious investment in what appears to be a rare talent at quarterback.
Great way to put it |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Why did Bruce Allen come out and say we had 6 picks. I thought we have a 1,3,4,4,,6,6,7

I don't think we have two 6's we might have two 7's though. |

I thought we got a four for Campbell and a six for McNabb. Then we gave something up for Hightower. |

Yup, the second 4th is from the JC trade, and the 6th is actually from McNabb. |

So you think Bruce Allen does'nt know how many picks we have? |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
No No No
We have 1, 3, 4, 4, 5, 7 (no sixth rounder) we're expected to get another 7th. We used up one of our 6th rounders on Jamal Brown I thought. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
So Matt Kalil with the 1st rounder? Gotta protect Grossman.

I would hope he knows. However, I think when he said we have 6 picks, he may have meant 6 picks after the 1st round. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
This guy is peeking my interest. Knew of him before but after hearing McShay and Kiper talk about him I decided to follow up. Interesting guy to say the least.
"Plays with great intensity. Intimidating presence on the field. Is passionate about the game. However, he lets emotions get the best of him on the field, which has led to entirely too many personal foul penalties. Maturity and self-discipline are being studied closely throughout the process. Described by NFL scouts' as a 'loose cannon', 'head case' and 'undisciplined'. Reportedly was flagged for 17 personal fouls in 35 games played at ASU. In 2010, did not start Washington game after head-butting OSU QB Ryan Katz and was called for a personal foul. In 2011, was benched during Cal game after being called for two personal fouls. Was not allowed to start in MAACO Bowl (undisclosed reasons). "
[YT]d7achvXsy3Q[/YT][YT]r3z7gomDA4A[/YT] [YT]jbXIN0d4V8w[/YT][YT]7VzapQ5W0V8[/YT] |

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
I wonder what Bruce Allen's and Mike Shanahan's draft strategy is with the remaining draft picks from the 3rd round to the 7th round. Since the Rams have both of our 1st and second round picks, I'm hoping that the Redskins can make our 3rd round pick valuable to use it to trade back and acquire a few extra draft picks unless there's a player of value that can be drafted in the 3rd round.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
My Dream Draft:
Round 1 RGIII Round 2 (trade 3 and 4 to move up) LaMichael James Round 4 Philip Blake Round 5 Ryan Broyles Round 6 Kellen Moore Round 7 TBD |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
why kellen moore?
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
why kellen moore?
Because with our luck we'll need to develop a quality backup. Moore would be great and if we're lucky we could turn him around and trade him for a couple of picks 3 or 4 years down the line. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Round 1) Robert Griffin... obvious choice
Round 3) A lot of late second rounders and 3rd rounders but my first choice would be Amini Silatolu, seems like your typical lineman who didn't go to a big school but is still very good. Him or Trumaine Johnson from Montana, both might be gone though but its the 70th pick and Silatolu is rated 65th overall and Johnson is rated 70th overall. Another great choice would be Markelle Martin, saw him play and was impressed. Round 4) Nate Potter... very good tackle, Kellen Moore was able to stay healthy for as long as he did mainly cause of this guy. Round 4) Joe Adams... could go nate potter or joe adams but both are very good players. Adams in the senior bowl stood out, fumbled then responded very well which shows a lot about his mentality and heart. Round 5) Ryan Broyles... amazing slot receiver would have gone in the top two rounds before injury. Supposedly recovering very nicely. Landry Jones wasn't the same without him, shows his value. Round 7) Kellen Moore/Cliff Harris, just for a backup Cliff Harris has been dropping on a lot of boards but was impressive a couple of years ago. Obviously the focus of this draft will be on the offense, and a lot of these are hopeful picks based on where they are projected to go but anything can happen on draft day. But I love the draft so hopefully we get quality players. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
You could probably argue either way whether Moore or Griffin enjoyed the better college career. They were both sensational. And if not for Cam Newton, they both might have won a Heisman.
