We'd be a legit SB contender with that roster

I'd be better than Bruce Allen or Vinny Cerrato at least.

No cocaine would be involved in my draft picks.

I don't see OT as a big need, both guys were very good this yr.

Lucas exceeded expectations. But he is a perfect backup swing tackle. If we can get a young LT like Slater or Darrisaw at 19, for the next 5 seasons at least, I'd gladly take either one.

They've got us drafting Stanford QB Davis Mills in the fourth round. I'm having trouble understanding this one. Just doesn't seem to accomplish anything. If we don't make a trade, sign a FA starting QB, or draft one of the guys discussed as round 1 possibilities, would a guy like Mills really be an improvement over Montez as our QB3?

Under their draft scenario, where we've already addressed OT, WR, and S, seems like I'd rather look at, say, LB at that spot than select a guy to battle with Montez.

Drafting Darrisaw and the 2 Moores is intriguing, but in that scenario, I would hope that we would have traded for someone like Stafford or addressed QB some other way.

I've honestly never even heard of him and I live in CA. One of the things I like about reading other mock drafts though, is getting to hear some new names you might not by yourself. I don't love that pick, but I'm not against picking a developmental QB if we don't get a viable veteran.

I think you look at drafting a QB to develop even if you are able to land a Veteran starter.

If it's a front line locked in starter like Stafford, I don't think it's necessary this draft. Not necessarily against it, but not a necessity. If we get someone like Mariota or Fitzpatrick, I would prefer to draft one this year.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread

There's a few mocks out there with us picking Darrington, and the sentiment is he's both BPA and a real need. I agree on both aspects, so if he is the pick I won't be fussing over it. And if the best available WR is there with our 2nd pick Moore seems sound. But I'm still picking up a top FA WR if possible. A rookie WR isn't nailed on to star in year 1 if at all.

But the rest of that draft seems lazy. Not to argue Cisco isn't a good S but our biggest need on D is LB, probably followed by CB. With Reeves and Curl (and Collins coming back?) would you really pick another S over all the other needs? The rest of those picks look to me like someone not really looking at our needs at all, just a list of players they like.

I think they'd part with Rodgers first. He'll be gone after next year. I give him one more year in Green Bay and it won't be a peaceful separation. He took the drafting of Love personally.

Or they lose to the Rams this week and Rodgers demands a release or trade because he's sick of playing on a trash offense with no help! :laughing2

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread

I can't see the Packers losing unless the Rams can stifle Adams. He's on fire especially late in the season.

I doubt they would let Rodgers go while he and Adams are peaking. Maybe after the 21-22 season, especially if there's a drop off.

But yes, if we was available, like Stafford, I'd love him as a bridge QB for 2-4 years.

I don't see the (presumptive) league MVP leaving his team in the same off-season.

I can get on board with the Stafford talk but lets be real, Rodgers isn't going anywhere.

The way I see it, moving from 19 to 1 this year would require us to part with our entire draft this year, plus our first rounders from 2022-2024.

But it won't matter because T Law will have us in the Super Bowl every year.

A trade for Deshaun Watson is the one and only big deal I would go for this offseason. He would take us to the next level.
