Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Oh I see. You think he could be like a Ryan Tannehill, the guy that came to Tennessee, replaced Mariota, played with the same players Mariota had, and made that team much better than it was with Mariota as the quarterback. Ok.
Yeah. QBs have strengths, tendencies, and systems that suits them best. Tennessee did not fit Mariota’s skill set as well as Tannehill. See Trubisky. Nagy kept trying to force a round peg in a square hole and when Bill Laser took over play calling he started tailor things to Trubisky’s strengths and he started playing better. So yeah, that’s exactly what I’m talking about. And I appreciate your smug little hussy response by the way. 😉 |

Sorry you look at it that way. |

JP FINLAY said this is WFT twitter daily on QB Search lmao
He's not wrong. Rivera said they're exhausti big all options, and they should. But I don't see them making an overpriced swing at anyone. Stafford made sense, but they got out priced. Like it or not the offseason may very well be much quieter at QB than many expect. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk
That wouldn't bother me. We're making progress in building a contender and I like the approach that RR and his staff have taken so far. I'd rather not use up our draft picks or our cap space this year. Also, I am totally against trading an excellent young player as part of a deal for a QB. I wish the talk of trading Montez Sweat would end now. I'm fine with drafting a QB as long as it's not a reach or bringing in a reasonably priced FA QB to compete with the ones we already have on the roster. |

Per Michael Lombardi
“Washington is close to trading for Marcus Mariota, they are in serious talks with the Raiders” Wow |

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Well, we're deepest on the D-line, so probably D Payne. I don't really like that idea, but I like it better than trading a pick from the first three rounds. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I wouldn’t trade Payne for Mariota. For Carr yea but not for an injury history like Mariotas. Also let’s be honest, he’s really not that good. I think he could be a solid QB1 but is he someone that can carry a offense? No

He’s due to make $20M next year, they better reconstruct that shit. I’m not too high on this move either. Would much rather have Carr but apparently he’s not getting moved |

Pass. *yawn*

It would take a lot more than Payne to trade for Carr. Mariota does have an injury history. It doesn't help when you are sacked 155 times in 5 years. Like I said, I don't particularly like the idea, but if they are going to make this move, I'd rather part with a player that we probably aren't going to be able to retain in two years, than part with a pick in the first 3 rounds. |
