Is there any way Bradford could leverage his way to Redskins? Basically say he wont sign a contract with. Kinda like J Russell, E. Manning. Or is STL gonna throw so much green it aint gonna matter?
I hope that Bradford tells the Rams, "I have always hated the Rams and I don't think anything will change that. So I will insist on a $500 mil. contract and hold out as long as it takes to get it."

This Sam Bradford Pro Day sounds exactly like 2005..Alex Smith #1 overall

QB Alex Smith had a tremendous workout in Salt Lake City, making his case to be the first player selected in the draft. Smith threw for 45 minutes and was lights out. His performance was so good, those in attendance gave the Utah passer an ovation at the workouts completion.

Guess who went second all the way down at #24 if the first round???

Arron Rogers is one of the draft's most complete quarterbacks, but he doesn't have prototypical size. He's listed at 6-2, but is probably more like 6-1, possibly shorter. There are also concerns that he could be a system quarterback coming out of a QB friendly offense at CAL
(Sounds alot like Jimmy Clausen)

Players usually hold out for more money. Dropping to #4 gives you less leverage on arguing for more money, so this makes no sense.

The Aaron Rodgers/Jeff Tedford situation reminds me a little of Clausen's situation with Weiss. People were hesitant to draft Aaron Rodgers because of previous pro QB's that came from Tedfords system (Harrington, Boller, Akili Smith but mainly Boller for this comparison). These days it's not hard to find people trying to make comparisons between Clausen and Quinn and though the jury is out on Quinn it showed that just playing in a pro style offense under Weiss and having great intangibles doesn't guarantee success.

Still it is a pro offense and I stand by the statement that we have possibly the best QB coaches in the league (Norv Turner is also up there) and I think if they're comfortable enough with Clausen we'll be more then fine.

Still interesting comparison with the 2005 draft. Spread QB vs Pro QB and the concerns of playing for a QB guru.

I'd say Aaron Rodgers is probably the very best case scenario for Clausen. If you pair him with elite receiving talent and a good (if aging) offensive line, you might have a shot at getting that.

With that in mind, I'll point out that Rodgers' perception among the league will never be higher that it is right now, and he'll fall considerably when the Packers miss the playoffs and he doesn't make the pro bowl. The change won't be in him though, it will be in his teammates.

Nice post. The part in bold is a good reminder this time of year and most especially because of who we have calling the shots at Redskins Park. I don't think there's any reason to assume Bruce and Mike have fallen in love w/ Bradford the way some have. Like the excerpt above shows, so many kids have looked like future champions leading up to the draft only wallow in mediocrity forever thereafter. My intuition is our FO has a solid risk/reward strategy for us.
I think (know?) Bradford would rather play for the Redskins. But I don't see him getting past the Rams either. I don't know what we can offer. I know they want Montgomery, but Campbell, #4, Montgomery? You have to offer more.

Maybe throw in another couple of 2011 picks, get Atogwe as well. Trade Landry to New Orleans for their 1st rounder. Get a OL there, hopefully keep our 2nd round pick, get another OL there?
You think New Orleans is even interested in Landry? GG likes him that much?

^^Carter and Landry would get New Orleans second but I dunno about they're first. Throw in Rocky and it would.
