No, not the end of the world, but would they be significantly better than Taylor, Fitzpatrick, Dalton, Beathard, Winston, etc.? I don't think so - so why give up draft capital?
Well I for one think that in a different situation they could be substantially better then they’ve been, but I know they may not be. But at the same time, a draft pick is a crap shoot too so I don’t see a real difference in the approach. |

To me the difference is picking up their contract vs getting a potential starter on a rookie contract. I just think free agency is the best way to go if you're looking for a bridge QB. |
Do we have any hope for the practice squad qb we had last year?
Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Well they must have had some faith in him as they made him the#2 behind Heinicke when Smith couldn't go, but not enough to make him starter... |

Well I think they did that because there was literally no other QB on the roster who could physically play. |
I think a fourth for either Maritotta or Darnold wouldn’t be the end of the world and draft a developmental guy late might be a decent compromise.
If the WFT could have gotten Mariota for a fourth I think they may have already done that deal. |

Of these two guys, I prefer Darnold. He's only had Adam Gase coaching in the NFL, which may be why his talent has been wasted. So a bounce back is more likely with him, than with Mariota, who has been around a while. Now ... for the right price, I'd be ok with either of them, really. Although Darnold wins here again between these two, given he is still on his rookie contract. Get one of these guys, draft a QB in the middle rounds, and let them all compete to see who makes up the QB room next fall. I like Heinicke a lot .. I've never been sold on Kyle Allen, which may not be fair. He was doing ok before he got Theismanned. Maybe he blossoms into something. But the competition would be great to have, especially in a year where we should get a better off season to actually see who can win the jobs. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I agree I would take Darnold over MM. Sam has shown flashes of potential and he is more accurate than MM

Such a stupid thing if they do. Doug Williams particularly doing his best suck up to the name, probably why he was kept around...
Yeah, I'm not a fan of trading for anyone, but just rolling with Allen and Heinicke is not really a viable option.
They will likely add a QB before the draft and in the draft.
This might be most likely scenario, assuming you're talking about keeping Allen and Heinicke and adding a FA vet and a rookie draft pick without trading up for a 1st Round QB. I wouldn't mind this approach at all in this stage of our team build. |

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Doug Williams is a legend here and I don't want to sound like I'm disrespecting him, but nothing he has said or done anywhere over the years has made me feel that he is anything other than just a corporate suck up. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Doc walker likes the name .. Burgundy & Gold , The best College team for a while goes by the name Crimson tide , uses a elephant for mascot.. plain helmet with number .. The BRAND is what the team makes it .. you lose and people say it sucks .. you Win and the name becomes part of it I personally do not want another generic name to replace what we had .. red tails, red wolves , all those names are just that .. Washington Football is what I like .. no need to say team .. they Could be also referred to as Burgundy & Gold .

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Doesn’t matter to me. I stocked up on Redskins gear and they will always be the Redskins to me. I knew several Native Americans who are fans of the team because of the Redskins name and logo and I promised them I would always wear Redskins gear and I intend to do so.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I think they’ll keep it Washington FT as well, everything is branded already so I don’t see a big change coming

You don't want a generic name - but you like Washington Football?? That is as generic and bland as you could get. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
