The only game I've been to this season was the opener, and I was actually thinking about that possibility, since it was exactly five years since 9/11. But I think the only way an attack on a football stadium would work would be from the outside, with a plane or mortar type attack. It'd be next to impossible to get a bomb inside a stadium. And not to be too stereotypical, but a football game is not really a place where you see a lot of people of Arabic ethnicity. So I would imagine that if a terror alert was given for football stadiums, there would be several thousand eyes on the handful of Arabic people present.

maybe. but a big part of 9/11 was the physical and global economic symbolism of the World Trade Center. the other sites were obviously govt. targets.

the european attacks were on the transportation systems that would cripple the capitals of those countries. i think they're a bit more ambitious than just killing innocents like in malls and stuff. it wouldn't net them much global support.

Their goal is to terrorize, thus the term terrorists. They want to force Americans to alter their daily routines, in a sense take away our freedom, to the point that we don't feel free to do what we want. Like go to a football game or ride the subway without the fear of getting blown up.

Global support isn't anything that they have ever worried about.

I was honestly concerned about the Super Bowl this past year because it was in a dome. If they can somehow find a way to literally bring the roof down there would be a lot more casualties than if they just bombed part of an open stadium.
I really hate that I can sit here and realistically think something like this could happen. I want to go back to being a little kid who doesn't know any better.
