Coach Gibbs Has Something For The Fans!!!

Coach Gibbs interrupted his own post-game interview yesterday to say he was sorry for slighting the fans who were there to see the team bus off to the airport on their way to Indy. He said he sent someone back to say he was sorry, and that he had something for them. I have never in all my years seen a coach do that before. It would be interesting to see how many fans show up to see what he has for them, and is there anybody here?

Czaban (sp?) ripped him a new one for that apology in the Skins post game on Comcast.
I hope its a refund for buying tickets to the games.

He's going to give them all free Redskins keychains because they were so diehard.

already mentioned. he should apologize for the craptacular on field displays. I don't care if he ran those people over, just win. it was shameless pandering and really pretty worthless.

I can picture it now, it'd be like when someone gets caught while trying to run from zombies in a horror movie or something, just ripped limb from limb. Sorry, I just watched Dawn of the Dead last night.

He is going to reveal the answer to question 3 while serving some delicious homemade pie

And speaking of 3, can we please get rid of Nick Novak? This guy gets a free ride it seems just because he's a former Terp and he kicked the game winner against Seattle. But he ain't that good. If Morten Anderson is kicking game winners, couldn't we sign someone like Nick Lowery? He's a DC guy

Yeah, I mean I was a fan of the Novak signing, but he missed a chip shot!

I agree, he definitely gets a free pass cause he was a Terp. He hasn't been particularly good...ever. They need to find someone else, not just a nice local guy. And how about someone who can kick off?!

i was wondering when someone was going to bring this up. was novak any good in college? i would prefer the answer come from a bipartisan fan( you terps fans know who you are?

Think they could get him for a fifth rounder and the first if both the Skins and Bucs end up in the top 10? They get the higher of the two, of course.

novak improved his leg strength last year, but his accuracy? not so great... not that it mattered.

in 2002 he was #2 in div I-A with 125 points.

if you want to see field goal distances, you may have to look at individual game reports for the play by play (all linked, but a pain to do if you don't really care that much).

Re: Coach Gibbs Has Something For The Fans!!!

The saddest part for Novak is that he missed two in the dome. There is no wind in the dome, nothing to contend with the kick.

As far as his accuracy is concerned, he was extremely accurate hitting the post. It is very hard to hit something 6 inches wide.

We need someone like Succup from South Carolina, he hit a 49 yarder a game ago, it was the game before their bye.

would it have really mattered? he shouldn't have been kicking anyway. we were only down 3 TD's

Re: Coach Gibbs Has Something For The Fans!!!

The worst part about Nick missing those two kicks....is its a one possession game if he doesn't. 22+6=28, we lost 36-22.

Not Coo.....

Re: Coach Gibbs Has Something For The Fans!!!

Maybe I can get Sonny or George to ask Gibbs on his show what he has for those fans. Maybe he's going to tell them their wish is going to be granted and that we've seen the last on #8. I'll go out there and be one of those fans if I could hear that declaration.

Yeah not gonna lie, when he was building up to that story, I thought he was gonna talk about some big change, or something important, but he just came off as really lame, and caring at all about the loss, but just trying to apease fans.

It's not just the field goals, it's the kickoffs too. Granted it's not easy to kickoff from your own 5 yard line
