How We Make The Playoffs
Play well next year, cuz this one is over.
|
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
What a wasted opportunity this was. Coming out so hot in the first quarter, then they act like the game ended after 15 minutes.
|
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
Yeah, very discouraging.
|
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
what am i going to watch for the next 9 months?
|
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
The classic we're up by 14, let's not make the opponent feel bad Gibbs move.

yea, i'm pretty sure that is what happened. |
Re: How We Make The Playoffs

I think you nailed it. We should have stuck the dagger in them, but we let them off the ropes. |
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
Well...the drops didn't help...I had to leave on a call during the third, was the offense THAT bad...I looked at the numbers, how did we lose this one?
|
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
Do you guys think Gibbs really told his team to lay off?
Or did the players decide to do that on their own? I suspect the latter. |
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
by the by...wow its amazing how much of a difference Springs makes for that D...we HAVE to get another corner
|

It seems that our staff has a difficult time getting the 'tempature' of the game. The play calling was very suspect today. |

We get up by 14 and all of a sudden instead of mixing in great playaction, we try to burn clock in the first half. It doesn't work. The offense doesn't have an on/off switch that they can flick if the game gets close or they fall behind. They get cold. The running game was working, but we gotta throw some balls on 1st/2nd from time to time to keep them honest. |
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
this team needs a hard ass training camp and a hard ass preseason.
the whole time in the preseason all we heard was "don't worry this isn't how we will play" and "we have only shown 2% of our offense" this team expected every thing to be handed to them. |

I'm not sure how much of a difference Springs really would have made. This game was lost on the ground by the guys up front. |

Exactly, this wasn't the first time we've seen this. You look back since Gibbs came back, very similiar MO. |
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
I think the idea is when you're winning, and you can pound it as well as we were...then you continue to do so...that being said, we let them get away. Gibbs can't coach against poor poor interceptions, but we can mix the offense up a little...its just too late this season to start doing so

No, I hear what you're saying. And yes, the pattern has been get the lead, try to burn the clock, and let the defense win it. But like Gibbs has been saying, we're a smashmouth football team. On a day when your top running back goes over a buck-fifty, you're supposed to win those. But you can't when the D allows amost 250. That's not the offense's problem. |
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
I just pray that we don't draft 5 fullbacks...
|
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
I say we draft Bobby Knight as a vice-president-associate-co-defensive coordinator and have him kick our team's ass into shape!
|
Re: How We Make The Playoffs
I'm so numb from all these losses...the idea behind liking football is that its something to be passionate about, but when all you ever get is that sinking feeling in your stomach, what's the point? I have a feeling this isn't going to be remedied for a long time...especially if some of you have your way, and we cut half the team/coaching staff

What about that guy from Mail Call on the history channel? He has a real gruff, army sounding voice and he's been in the military a hella long time. He could whip this bunch of sissies we have on our team into shape. I say we hire him as our strength coach and Chuck Norris as our defensive coordinator/associate head coach-defense, and Chuck could just teach all our guys how to roundhouse kick all our opponents into submission. |

Re: How We Make The Playoffs
