Now These Are Every Where!

Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
This may have been brought up, but does anyone know why Blades slid so far in the draft. I remember him being one of the top Lb's some months ago. Hell, i had never heard of Dallas Sartz and he was taken before Blades.

Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
Yesterday I went to go get my haircut, and one of the barbers told me that Blades was one of his favorite college players, and he was pissed that he went to the Redskins because they wouldn't play him. I just thought it was good that there's other people out there that think this guy can play.

A girl that works with graduated from Pitt, and said he was conference player of the week like once or twice. Said he could play. She too didn't like the fact that he's a Redskin. |

His lack of ideal size probably had something to do with it. |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
That is too bad about everyone's friends that didn't like the fact that blades is now a redskin. If their fav team was insightful enough they would have picked him instead of us. Go skins...

Actually, I wouldnt consider the barber my friend. In fact, he's never even cut my hair before, and that was the first time I've ever spoke to him. I was just talking to him while I was waiting for the other barber I wanted to cut my hair to finish with the person she was with. |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
Maybe he is the cerebral type...cuz he sure did rack up the tackles. Unfortunately though the Big East isn't exactly a football powerhouse conference over the past 4 years. There were probably questions about the talent level that he played against.
|
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
I seem to think both Blades and Sartx will make this team and contribute on special teams. They both have upside. Look at Golaston and Montgomery. Nobody thought they would make it through camp. Slowly but surely the skins revamping the defense with youth. D now has several young players in Taylor, Landry, Rogers, McIntosh, Blades, Golston, Doughty, Montgomery, and Sartz.

Good point you bring up about the Big East not being a football powerhouse. For that very reason I think the Skins chose Landry over Okoye. One lined up against up SEC talent four years straight, and the other played in an inferior conference. |

He said the Skins just went for the best player and he now noticed quite a bit of them were SEC. Take what you like, but this is just fact. He did say that. |

Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
I love his attitude, look foreward to watching his continued development.
|
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
I love a HARD hittting Intimidating Defense. Other teams hate to play against that. Hopefully, that is what we are building
|
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
Woo...nice hit. :)
Looks like we made some GREAT picks this year! |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
I like that he kept his head up and actually went to wrap up on the tackle as opposed to just throwing his shoulder in for the big hit.

thats what you are suppose to do, for your own safety. Tackle with your head up so you can see what you are hitting. Less chance of getting severely injured or getting a penalty. |

I understand that, but a lot of players in today's game when presented with that kind of opportunity for a monster hit will just throw their shoulder into a guys chest. They are looking to make it on "jacked up" rather than make a sure tackle. It's a thing of beauty to see such a powerful hit that also incorporates a perfect form tackle. |

yes he did the younger london fletcher |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
blades was a 3 year all conferance selection, big east defensive player of the year, first team all american, number 1 all time in tackles at pitt.......i think this ****er can play, i dont know why he fell or how but i do know he can play this game.....i remember a 5 round pick with alot of similar attributes and stats, zach thomas.....didnt take him long to make his mark...... ill bet right now he is better than rocky the big bust mcintosh but thats just my opinion and i hope it doesnt offend anyone like most of mine do
|
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
I wouldn't really consider Rocky MacIntosh a bust. He only played and started handful of games. I don't think he's given a chance to prove himself yet.

Yeah me too, I thought he had a good season |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
He was the Defensive player of the year in a big time conference. I would expect nothing less.

The same reason that Ohio State's QB did. Lack of size. |

...he did the younger london fletcher?? haha |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
I loved this pick. He is going to be our starting MLB in 1-2 years.

Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
how can that tool say mcintosh is a bust... in the only game he started, he got 10 tackles. really hard to say hes poopy after that kind of performance.
|
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
HA. Poopy. Interesting word choice.

He says that because he knows best. |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
This guy holds many records at PITT for tackles and so on. He is a beast you guys watch him. He could be better than Landry in the long run.

Heads up play, It would be nice to have a guy actually follow through on potential turnovers, even if it falls into their lap. |
Re: H.B. Blades laying some wood
Also on Redskins.comTV He has a couple other picks....definitely an upside
Random....Also watching the Jordan Palmer video on Redskins.comTV he looks like he has alot of the same qualities as Campbell, and could prove to be an appropriate backup in years to come... He has a similar build as JC, seems to have similar pass placement ability (although not nearly the caliber of Jason's), he's got the ability to scramble (Again though his 4.99 40 time is not nearly as impressive as JC's 4.69), and more then anything his ability to scramble in the redzone find an open reciever in the endzone and make something out of nothing reminds me alot of Campbell. And that is one of the best attributes of JC, in the recent past I can remember having ALOT of trouble scoring TD's when we were in the redzone, It is so refreshing to have a QB that can actually capitalize on good feild position. Hopefully Jordan will prove to be a capable backup with a similar style so that in the case of injury (God forbid, knock on wood, etc.) the Offense wont have to adjust to much to a different QB style. P.S. I actually knocked on wood, so no worries. :thumb: |
