What if...
I was feeling pessimistic about the Redskins lack of personnel management and I thought to myself, we are really only a few moves away from being a really well-rounded talented team -
I would content that if we had just made a few moves, we would be real contenders this year: 1. Drafted Shawn Merriman instead of Carlos Rogers 2. Re-signed Dockery 3. Not made the Lloyd and Duckett trades and used picks for depth If we had simply made these moves I think we would be challenging for a super bowl this year. . . I'm curious to know what you think about this, and also, what other moves would you like to take back if you could? |
Re: What if...
Second-tier moves I would like taken back:
1. Re-sign Ryan Clark 2. Re-sign Antonio Pierce 3. Draft Okoye instead of Landry (provided we have Clark at safety) |
Re: What if...
What if the Eli decided to stay on the Chargers?
What if Jordon went before Bowie? These questions are kind of stupid because you can't just think like that. You have to make the decision at the time with the best information and analysis, but things don't always workout the way you think they will. You can however learn from past mistakes in analysis, but that is all. You can't sit and bitch about how one player turned out this way and then turn it to bash the Skins front office. |
Re: What if...
Sure I can. This is a bulletin board. Conjecture is what we do here.
For instance, I can ponder, what would have happened if you weren't born with a brain deformity. |

I've seen him on TV, and I've seen the kid live, he's bad ass. But I can live with all the other what ifs.... |

Sorry to say. |
Re: What if...
Before you get all offended, I just think this thread is a rather lame attempt to vent your anger at the Redskins for making those moves.

Re: What if...
What if Asthon Kutcher had told that lady that there was a M-8o in her mailbox?
|
Re: What if...
Merriman, hindsight 20/20 isnt it great
|
Re: What if...
In retrospect it always seems like we should have done this and that, but I feel that a good amount of decisions are made with quite a bit of knowledge and deep analysis. This is truly an illogical way of presenting you qualms about our front office.
You should drift back towards reality. |

This from a guy whose signature reads "Rhiana has a really big forehead...I would have to bag that." |

Oh yes the typical and random cheap shot a signature which has nothing to do with this thread or anything I have said. Stop derailing your argument and actually explain to me why what you are saying is rational or logical. |

I am glad a few people have some sense on this site. |

Fair enough. What I'm really trying to express through this thread is a sense that the Skins front office actually hasn't done a terrible job because I think they are only a few moves away from being a very competitive team. |

But I can live with all the other what ifs....
What about the whole youth movement thing. What if I shorted stocks yesterday and went long today? I will say that I was allways againts Rogers since we just replaced a qaulity corner (Smoot) with a younger more expensive but possible better corner. Also what if we kept Lavar, possiblly going for repeat SB this year (I miss the guy)? |

If you are saying that then I guess I did not interpret you correctly. I thought you are just throwing out ifs and buts to talk crap about the Skins. |

You want to say "what if..." well what if by 2010 the following comes true: -Guys like Golston, Montgomery, and Blades are seen as huge draft steals, a la Tom Brady -Brandon Lloyd lives up to his potential and becomes the next Chad Johnson -Antonio Pierce weighs 314lbs and is out of the league due to complications with diabetes -Amobie Okoye had been to the Lindsay Lohan Memorial Rehab Clinic 3 times -Joe Gibbs re-retires after winning his 4th Super Bowl ring -Vinny C wins the NFL Exec of the year (does the NFL even have one of those) -The cowboys go 0-16 two years in a row man, it IS fun to ask "what if." |
Re: What if...
What if the Skins sign Ray Carruth?
...Score. Nothing to scare a few dudes like having a killer on the field. Juke. Spin. SHANKED. |
But we are tightening the reins now. That means we expect everyone will cut back drastically on the hijacking of threads, posting of duplicate threads, posting of nonsensical threads, and creating posts just for the sake of creating posts. We understand, of course, that it's not entirely avoidable. But repeat offenders will be dealt with accordingly.
1) We've already talked about this 2) This is textbook nonsensical 3) Who honestly cares, let's talk football. We are where we are, and why don't we focus on our pre-season game tomorrow. This isn't the off season anymore. This thread sucks... and should head straight to downtown lockville. |

You never know what could have actually happened had these things changed. ps- resigning Dockery would have been MORONIC at best considering how much Buffalo paid him. |

Just noticing this thread. Locking it
To be clear though, I'm not locking it because of the topic (although I do find it a tired topic), I'm locking it because two of you have forgotten a certain guideline: "Perhaps the most important guideline of this forum is this, please treat your fellow forum members with the utmost respect at all times, NO EXCEPTIONS. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. If you cannot voice your thoughts and opinions with respect and thoughtfulness towards your fellow forum members, please find another forum to post on.
