Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
NEW YORK -- The Dallas Cowboys wrested the title of the NFL's most valuable franchise from the rival Redskins, knocking Washington off the top of the list for the first time in eight years, according to Forbes magazine's annual survey.
Thanks to a new $1 billion stadium set to open in 2009, the Cowboys' value increased by 28 percent -- by far the largest jump among NFL teams this year -- to $1.5 billion. They climbed from third to first in the rankings, leapfrogging the Redskins ($1.467 billion) and the New England Patriots ($1.199 billion). Only until we build our next one.

Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
Could care less. The only numbers I'm thinking about are the two wins we are gonna wrestle from the cowgirls! :)

Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
Who cares. When the economy goes down the shitter, Jones and Snyder are both going to have a hard time filling the stands at $80 a pop, as even the govt is downsizing. The time for fun and games is coming to an end.
|
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
I dont care.
|
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
I only care when it directly affects my pocket. I mean the beers went up $1 this year from $7 to $8 but the ticket prices stayed at $99 (lowers). If this means that our owner will raise our prices, then it will piss me off. Who cares if they are the most valuable? Its not like Jones or Snyder is going to sell them anytime soon.
What really matters is the win loss record. |
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
wow 1.5 bill and still a worthless bag of crap
|
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
Enjoy it while it lasts. But you'll still be playing in a toilet bowl.

Not hardly. If the economy is hurting it doesn't effect the rich. Those stadiums will ALWAYS be FULL! $80 a pop where.... Arizona? face value and reality price are two different things. |

I have to admit, their new digs are pretty righteous.

Except for having another unfinished roof. Playing their games in something resembling a toilet bowl just suits them. Their old stadium was an embarrassment, they had to leave a hole in the roof because they ran out of money and couldn't afford to repair the structural problems during construction. So...this time they actually PAY to make the stadium look like they ran out of money and had a bad set of blueprints. :cheeky-sm This artist's rendering, provided by the Dallas Cowboys, shows an interior view of the bowl with an open roof of their new $ 1 billion football stadium being built in Arlington, Texas. Just wait until you get that property tax bill, Jerry. :) |
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
Apprently, not scoring touchdowns and crying about it helps your franchise. If this is the case, then we should be the most valuable franchise for how many times I cry whenever Brunell was on the field.
|
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
The funny thing is that the 2 most valuable franchises in the NFL have only had two playoff wins (both by the Skins) in the past 10 years.

Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
I bet Romo cried when he heard the news.
|
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
Actually the new stadium is VERY impressive and will be the best stadium in the league when its done. If I am not mistaken, they have a retractable roof on this new one so they can host a Super Bowl. Don't forget though, the Skins will still have the LARGEST stadium in the league.

saorry, grillz. but i dont find that funny at all

I think I read that it can fit that many people, but that's only for special occasions like college games. I don't know where the extra seats come from, but I don't think they plan to routinely have that many people there. Edit: This is from Wiki, "It is scheduled to open before the 2009 NFL season and will accommodate 80,000 {rednecks}, with the possibility for expansion to 100,000 {a**holes}." |

Don't know if you have heard yet or not. But the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium at Arlington has already been selected to host the Super Bowl in 2012. |
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
how the hell do you expands 20,000 seats? where do they store them? maybe in wade philips' son's dancer/choreographer anus. yeah, he has a gay son. take that ass cowboy.

Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
I hope that some day I can attend a Cowboys Redskins game in that stadium because it looks really nice.
|
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
I think being really valuable is hurting us in the end. Doesn't require for us to win if we are producing so much revenue anyway....maybe this is a good thing.
|
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
You can bet on it right now. The Danny is already started thinking about the next Skins football stadium for a couple of reasons:
1. He desparately wants a Super Bowl in DC 2. He doesn't like the Boy's having a better stadium and getting a Super Bowl in Dallas 3. He wants to make more money My guess is... w/n 10 years you'll definately see this. |

But the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium at Arlington has already been selected to host the Super Bowl in 2012.
And they thought Detroit didn't offer enough culture for the visiting NFL fan. Guess pig raping, taking roids and pulling ballsacks (see fanatic thread) will now be considered Super Bowl Week fun. New York and DC will only ever get the SB bid if they build a dome and I don't want a damn dome team. |
Re: Cowboys replace Redskins as NFL's most valuable franchise
Give Jones mega props for getting 300+ million dollars in tax payer money. I hope he has people lined willing to pay top $$ to lease those boxes.
