f...gibbs
(in honor of jamf)
What the hell is wrong with him that he STILL think conservative play calling is the way to go? The coaching lost this game for us plain and simple and it's getting to be like this week in and week out. We were all shocked last week when Campbell went deep for Moss (moss missed it) and I think Gibbs felt that was a mistake and wouldn't allow it again or something. How horrendous! |
Re: f...gibbs
Hm, this thread is going to go downhill fast.

Re: f...gibbs
Joe was definitely calling plays this game.
Or so it seemed. The playcalling wasn't the type of Saunders. Which is leading people to believe that it was Gibbs calling the plays this game. Or at least the second half. So now that we've experimented with the, "What happens if coach Gibbs calls the plays" scenario and failed spectacularly, it's time to hand the playbook back to Saunders. |
Re: f...gibbs
Dude you should be banned for using the F word on Gibbs. How quick we turn. If you are a true Redskin fan you remember 4 SB that Gibbs brought here, give the man a chance. He'll get it done, I guarantee it!!

Re: f...gibbs
bad call by you, not f gibbs...unless you are talking about betts being in the game and not portis. f betts man, this guy is the most tippy toe faggot man, you know i like ladell but he is a third down back at best in the nfl....1100 yards last year, 4 tds.....hes a third down back thats it, not goaline.
|
Re: f...gibbs
I'm putting it mostly on the defense for losing the game for us, but the conservative playcalling didn't help at all. I hate it just as much as the next guy and it's not helping. I guess they just don't trust JC to open up the gameplan.

If Portis was in the game he would have gotten stuffed. The whole side of the line got caved in. We should have been in shotgun and thrown the ball. |
Re: f...gibbs
yea betts was a mistake to have in there he has no push to him Portis would have ran that queermo over and went into the endzone or atleast tried to stretch the ball

That's the problem, I do remember it, and he does too...he still thinks that way of playing the game is the way to go. It's not. For the love of the Redskins, please let Saunders do whatever the hell he wants with no interferance. |

If we had thrown the ball though and say thrown a pick or some incompletions you guys would have been saying how we should have ran the ball. Lets face it we didn't get it done. Stop pointing fingers and just be glad we have a bye week to think this one over and hopefully work out some kinks. I'll be in FedEx to see the Skins improve to 3-1 against Detroit, and I can't wait. |

See this is where the problem lies. Since Gibbs has come back he has been Mr. Conservative. Get a lead and let the defense try and win. Instead of trying to step on the other teams throat we run this bullshit offense. I know I'm going to get some heat for this but do the Patriots do this crap? They try and blow you out when they are up 21 in the 4th q. |

Yeah, wtf? Gibbs relinquished control to a 700 hundred page play book mad man/dictator. Speaking of dictators, isn't Gloria a Cuban citizen? Out with Saunders. Portis also needs to go to a Pop Warner practice and listen to the RB coach say look the ball into your hands FIRST 10,000 times or more. That fumble.... Hail and I look forward to the Lions |

I agree with that too...you don't put THE BACK UP in when the game is on the line! Why not bench Campbell for Brunell??? DUMB! Portis would have scored on that first play (3rd down). Betts didn't bother to try to beat that ONE guy...on the 4th down play, he tripped over his own damn player. While of course I do blame Betts for stinking up the joint, I blame Gibbs for putting him in and going to him twice! They stacked the line and we tried to ram them with an inferior back...not smart! |
Re: f...gibbs
Do you have proof that Joe is making the calls? Maybe we should ask JLC to verify. Have patience, JC is still young and getting better every week even thought you don't think so. Gibbs is using him the way he should be, who's won 3 SB you or J Gibbs?

I'll tell you what...if Saunders was indeed calling all the plays, then I will publicly take this all back and put the blame on Saunders. I just know better, it smells like Gibbs to me and thousands of other Skins fans. |

When you are in shotgun you can still run the ball. The last two plays we were in some type of jumbo bullshit package. The Giants had all 11 guys on the line. Gibbs still think he can just ram it down everyones throat. Instead, why do we have JC in shotgun and have him call the play at the line??? This is what most NFL offenses do. |

We were in the power I offense. I have no problem getting stuffed on two run plays from the 1 yard line when our best people are on the field. I have a lot of problems with the fact that it was Betts. I would have rather Campbell ran a couple more naked boots. |

sorry man the defense didnt lose the game they caused turnovers. they were on the field in the 2nd half a lot. they did miss some tackles but they didnt lose the game |
Re: f...gibbs
If you guys noticed the replay, Betts was accidentally tripped by Sellers who knocked him to the ground.

JC could have Qb sneaked it in on 1st down if he would have just taken his freakin time. |
Re: f...gibbs
At least one of those plays in the red zone should have been a boot action play where Campbell has run/pass option. No question. And the fact that Dallas and Green Bay TORCHED their secondary and we didn't come out trying to throw at all is f-ing sickening. I'm as mad as I've been in a long damn time about this team. SHIT.

Dah, no kidding. I know he won 3 but took us to 4. |
Re: f...gibbs
Dont cared who called the plays. We got fucked because this situation should have never happened.
WHY WE LOST 1. The portis fumble 2. The Springs pass interference 3. Rogers not paying attention on the Burress TD. 4. Conserative playcalling for some fucking reason. 5. Betts being in the game at the end. 6. Sellers falling down every fucking time we ran in the 2nd half. 7. Sellers dropping a TD pass on 2nd and goal. 8. Spiking the ball on 1st and goal, WTF suprise them and just go up the middle. 9. We had 25 seonds to calm down and run the 4th down play and for some reason we rushed it. 10. We always fuck up against the Giants for some stupd ass reason. 11. The offense didnt help the defense out, no defense can win you a game when they are on the field for 20+ minutes in a half. 12. 81 yards in the second half. 13. Not taking advantage of 3 good returns by Cartwright 14. The missed FG by Suisham at the start of the game. He could have kicked one on the second to last drive and kicked one on the last drive. 15. Dropped passes (Portis, Moss) 16. Not going to Cooley when the Giants have been torched by tight ends all fucking season. 17. No double moves to Moss when he has vitimized their corners with that since coming to the NFL. |

We just are not a very good passing team right now. Last year we had a QB who couldn't throw it downfield, now we have one who can but he is only in his 10th start. JC and the WR's need more work together. I would also like to see a 6'4 wr added in the future for the red zone. |
Re: f...gibbs
i agree with the first post. we came out in thew 2nd half protecting the lead. you need to go for the damn kill. we lefty a wouynded animal backed in a corner free to come out swinging and they did. betts in on that 4th dwn dosent matter , this falls on gibbs shoulders he is the head coach with the last say..... he needs to goooooooo

Unfortunately they did do one boot...it was to Sellers on 2nd down..Campbell threw it behind him and he dropped it. They should have tried it again though. |
Re: f...gibbs
And another thing why the hell did we bring in reche caldwell if he isnt going to get on the field JAMES THRASH!! Why???
Another thing Portis had 10 carries for 45 yards in the first half and finished with 14 carries for 60 yards 4 carries for 15 yards!!! whos idea was that. We were the 4th best on 3rd down offense and went 5/16 bullshit We were the BEST on 3rd down defense and they went 9/16 including 7 consecutive conversions. Fuck that man that shit has to change. We won the first 2 games because the offense they might not have scored on every drive but they had drives moving the ball down field. the defense doesnt have a chance if right after a 6 minute drive they have to go back on the field before they sit down. Campbell can throw the deep ball great but everything else is mediocre at best. |
Re: f...gibbs, kinda harsh after one loss, no?
I do agree that the playcalling cost us this game, but lets slow down for a second.
1. The jury is still out on Jason Campbell. Having a rookie qb (with only 10 starts he still qualifies as a rookie to me) means that you will have to deal with growing pains. Like a 16-34 for 190 yds. Still no clue how Campbell overthows Moss, but I think they'll get it together coming out of the bye. 2. Our running game is the cornerstone of Gibbs football, and its tough to run when you have to replace the right side of your line two weeks into the season. 3. Somehow, the Giants know how to run the ball on us. I don't know if Pierce has given the G Men all our calls or what, but we just can't ever seem to stop the G-men from running on us. Tiki, Ward, hasn't seemed to matter. 4. Wasted draft picks have killed our depth. Going free agent heavy has made us awfully top heavy, hence no line depth. Lloyd and Duckett have contributed mightily to this Skins team, only as negatives not positives. There was some good. 1. Randle El made some pretty good plays. 2. No more offensive linemen got hurt. 3. We wore brand "new" uniforms. 3. We didn't trade a |

Not that I liked either of them, but Marty (for the Skins) does have a better record than Gibbs part 2 for the Skins. Also, Turner had 4 winning seasons out of 7 for the Skins. Gibbs part 2...1 winning season in 3 years. Same amount of post season wins as well...1. Now, I'm not saying I would rather have either of them over Gibbs, I'm saying we have saunders for a reason, and we need to use him. Gibbs style of play is outdated. While it worked great in the 80's, it's 20 years later and the game has changed significantly and it appears Gibbs is not willing to change with it. |

Joe Gibbs need to do what Dick Vermil did in St. Louis when he let Martz take over the offense, and what he did in Kansas City when Saunders was at the controls of the offense. Maybe doing the bye week Joe Gibbs will finally let Saunders be the man of the offense so that we can be explosive. This is no exuse for us not to be averaging 25 points a game. No excuse. |
Re: f...gibbs
People forget that we are missing our right side of the offensive line. If you guys noticed Cooley was helping the right side trying to contain Strahan and having a helluva a tough time. Little things like that change the play calling.
