COLT - Come on now
OK, this is made to look like Colt (a SIXTH ROUND DRAFT PICK) who ain't done squat is selling this:
COLT BRENNAN Washington Redskins Autograph #5 Jersey - eBay (item 220255682544 end time Jul-12-08 23:12:10 PDT) 200 bucks for a bad knock off jersey and his autograph??????? :spank: Someone talk to this boy already. |
Re: COLT - Come on now

You can look at the "purchase" history, someone already has. Still doesn't make it any less of a crime.... I propose the punishment like a pig, run a stick through him and turn it over a fire slowly. |
Re: COLT - Come on now
I don't really have problem with it. It's the dude career and with the average NFL career being 3 years or so, looks like Colt is smart and trying to cash in early. Who knows this could be the highest his stocks gets.

My problem is not with him selling his autograph. Every player that can sell it usually does. More power to them. I go to alot of autograph signings (although I tend to focus on retired players). My problem is with the jersey itself. It is a fake jersey. They are making a point of showing a picture with the tags etc. That means someone who doesn't know better, will think they are paying for a licensed jersey. |

But I can't blame Colt. He just signed it, I highly doubt he's the one selling and marketing it. |
Re: COLT - Come on now
Quote from the listing:
"COA from Colt to authenticate the item" Just saying if it is not Colt or Colt's people... it is sure written to look like it. Also, with the seller being in HI with very little feedback, it appears to be someone working in his behalf. At least IMO |

Does it matter what he sells it for? This is a country of supply and demand...if you could sell a used towel for 2mil, wouldn't you? Or would you feel bad about it????? If he can get $200 for one, then he needs to raise the price. Good for him capitalizing on his name while it might actually be worth something! (hopefully it will be worth more, but I will guarentee you if he becomes the next Peyton Manning, you'd be pissed about missing out) |
Re: COLT - Come on now
Look, you can take all the shots you want at Colt Brennan. He's taken a lot of shots already, and he'll take a lot more. Regarding the accusation that he is selling this jersey, it's nonsense. He was in Hawaii this week and he did sign a lot of autographs...for free. Do you know where Waianae is? Anyway, what I do know about Colt Brennan is he is a winner. He knows how to win games. He makes decisions and throws a ball that receivers can turn into big plays. I think he'll be a solid asset for the Redskins. I don't know why some of you guys are targeting him, but so be it. The Redskins offense was the worst of playoff teams last year, even with Collins' great finish. We averaged 20.9 points a game. Ultimately, if Brennan plays, I'll guarantee we'll score more points and win more tight games. If not, I'll sell you my signed Colt Brennan jersey for a couple of cold beers.

I am making no comments on his ability. I have seen to many great college QBs be busts, and plenty that didn't do squat in college move on to have good NFL careers. My only comment are about the FAKE Reebok jersey... nothing to do with the man. |
Re: COLT - Come on now
i dont see where it says first that this is Colt himself selling it. nor is the seller stating that this is an authentic jersey. The Colt COA is to say that the AUTOGRAPH is AUTHENTIC. I dont see how its saying that its Colt himself selling it.

Re: COLT - Come on now
buyer beware? don't like it, don't buy it?
I mean, thanks for the heads up, but i'm not sure there's much else to add. and colt leading us to victory... not happening in the short term. first he's got to get healthy, then he's got to learn the NFL and prove he can play. |

I will disagree with this point. They are showing pictures of the jerseys with the counterfit tags and logos. I would say they are trying to give you the impression it is a licensed jersey. |
Re: COLT - Come on now
For $200 you should get more than a crappy jersey. Looking at the other things this seller has sold, he's also sold a bunch of Darren McFadden jerseys, so, for what it's worth, I'm not sure it's Colt selling the jerseys.
This may just be a photo the seller took of Colt signing the jerseys at some signing event where Colt would sign anything you brought him. Not that I know either way--I just don't know why Colt would be selling Darren McFadden stuff. Most plausible explanation to me would be that some entrepreneurial local Hawaiian named "Nolan" thought he'd make a few bucks off some 'Skins fans, but what do I know? Some 'Skins fan got it for as little as $69 too. |

I still don't agree with you at all on that either.. you cant exactly see what the tags say, he might have bought the jersey with those tags on them (some companys might put tags on their items that look something like another name brand, but thats not this sellers fault) and also he does not say in the auction at all that it is an authentic jersey. If you dont like dont buy, but if someone bought that and was dissatisifed that it wasnt an authentic jersey and open a complaint against the seller on ebay im sure that ebay would side with the seller. |

My point with the jersey is the average person cannot tell a fake from a real. They see the tags and assume they are buying a $250 jersey for only $200 with the autograph. If they show the tags, that is implying it is legit. |
Re: COLT - Come on now
That's what the "Ask seller a question." option is for.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree. It is my feelings that if a seller is showing "NFL" tags, then he is presenting the item as real. I guess it is because early on, I have been burned. Since that time, I have seen ALOT of other people also get burned. |
Re: COLT - Come on now
It is kind of like when you buy a name brand item from a major store in a mall. You assume that if it has that name brand, it is not a fake.
Now, if your paying $25 for an item that should be $250, then you should know... but an item discounted only 20-25%... that just seems like a sale price and not a warning sign of a fake. |

If Brennan plays we are in a world of doo-doo this year. And as far as the Brennan jersey, it may not be worth much more than a couple of beers, if Brennan is out of the NFL in two years. Another Hawaii QB who put up similar numbers and knew how to win games comes to mind, Timmy Chang (CFL). If Brennan does have to go in, I'll be pulling for him because he's a Redskin, but I'm not expecting much. |

Not to turn this into a Colt love fest, but most of us thought if Collins started we would be in a "world of doo-doo" and he led us to the playoffs. Stranger things have happened...don't count Colt out. |
OK, I didn't look at his selling history... I stand corrected.... :benched:
Naw, that's a good thing to stay on the look out--I blame James Washington! Anybody else remember that guy? We brought him in from Dallas, without lookin' I wanna say the '95 season, he came in with a big signing bonus, and the first thing he did was start a merchandise company. He sold apparel, especially hats, as I recall, in Redskins colors with his number on it. #24, with feather. I remember 'cause I got one of the hats. The brim was made from a real football... Anyway, he didn't finish out his first and only season with the Redskins. I think I remember the Wash. Post had him on the list of worst Redskins ever. Seemed to be more interested in his apparel company than winning games... So somebody's gotta keep an eye out for the bastards! They're out there. And hey, who knows? Maybe this guy IS workin' for Colt! I can imagine somebody with a little entrepreneurship settin' something like this up through the back door. I know I'd have to be awful rich before selling crappy jerseys for $200 a pop didn't seem worthwhile to me! |
Re: COLT - Come on now
In case you didn't know it, there is a vast Hawaiian conspiracy to get Colt into the lineup and sell Jerseys to every Redskin fan. I heard that for every jersey sold, he gets a free Mai Tai at Dukes. We need to keep our eyes on him.
