Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
I emailed her to find out where she's been the past few weeks and here's her response:
Matt sent the following message: Nothing to say since the season opening loss to the Giants? C'mon now Sally, fair is fair. Redskins fans everywhere would love to hear your thoughts now on that mess that Zorn inherited.

Hi Matt: the redskins look great and Snyder deserves a ton of credit for Zorn. Also the lines are playing much better than I thought -- partly because of Zorn's nifty play calling. All of which I plan to write next week. I've been in Alaska on a Sarah Palin story which is why I haven't been in the paper. I'm also trying to finish a book project. Soon as I get my other responsibilities behind me I will be very pleased to praise the skins as they richly deserve. They look terrific and isn't it fun? Best, sj
|
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
Kinda busy now huh.....? Good timing. Always found time in the past to bash the SKINS!
BITCH! |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
wtf? hath hell frozen over?
|
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
She probably grit her teeth the entire time she wrote that email. "Isn't it fun?" She's waiting 'til next week because she's desperately hoping for a loss to the Rams.
|
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
Dude I fucking love it.
"By halftime it was apparent that the Redskins will have to claw mightily to be better than a .500 team"~ Sally Jenkins Man oh man was she wrong. |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
Well...that is certainly understandable as I, myself have been attending a Dental conference with the ADA in Herzegovina. As soon as I return from a hunt for the elusive Snipe in Tanzania I'll will return to the states to write that BSSSSSSS.
It is obviously a first prioity. ..........Perhaps she does not favor the taste of CROW |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
U can bet if we lose there will be an article written that night
|
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
LOL, as much as she rips us (and we rip her in return) at least she wasn't a wet blanket like JLC when she responded to you. I get from the national press and some Redskins beat reporters (O'Hallaran from the Times and JLC/Jason Reid from the WP) that they are waiting to say 'I told you so' whenever we lose a game and not giving due respect when they win.
|
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
Sally, Sally, Sally......"Excuses are like...." what 4 weeks no word? Ok, I'll "assume" your article is going to be a long one filled with how you were wrong and you pointing out all the awsome things the Skins have done...while you were gone.
It's crow eaten time. Chew each bite atleast 20 times. Drink your milk cause I hear it does the body good. |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
I'll give her credit for responding to me, and I'm definitely looking forward to see just how much credit she gives to Snyder and Zorn next week.

Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
I find this thread rude. Posting private communication, and going to find someone that made a comment is rude.
Our success should be enough for us, we are acting as if we won the super bowl...it's a long season guys, anything can happen. 4 wins is not enough to be talking the trash we're talking. Stay humble folks. |

My only request is thus; be as quick and with as much enthusiasm, to praise the Skins as those same people were to bury them! |

Rude?
I wasn't out of line in my original email to her, and there's nothing of a sensitive nature in the email exchange. |

Although then again we are just yahoo fans, whereas she's a writer for a national newspaper. |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
I don't get the rude thing? If you were hanging out some dirty laundry, such as Paris Hiltons' tape, that might be different. This was pretty sedate stuff (that unless she's an idiot) that she knew would be, as ALL email, have the potential to be shared.

I've been humble for so long, with such disappointing teams in the past, I'm enjoying the opportunity to actually feel good about the Skins, and express that vocally. There's nothing wrong with that. As for being rude, I have no idea where you're coming from. SJ trashes the Skins all the time, and now she's nowhere to be found for the last 4 weeks. Nobody has a right to call her out on that, or it's rude to do so? I disagree. Also, I call bullshit on her "busy" schedule which doesn't allow enough time to write about the Skins. She obviously had enough time to write the article after week 1. The bottom line is that she likes to criticize the team, and doesn't like to praise them. God forbid anyone criticize her for that! |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
We are winning because she is away. She is a freaking Mush.
Coincidence that she no longer covering the Redskins and the Skins are kicking ass. She is now covering Palin/McCain and they have dropped in the polls recently. Sally, stay in Alaska. Stay away from the Skins. |

So what if some people are calling her out. We have not heard from her since what week 1 and she is always trashing the Skins so ....where the hell is she with her objectiveness? Atleast someone had the balls to ask her. You go Matty. |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
Rude...LOL. On the internet nothing is private, especially communication with someone you don't know.

How does foot taste Sally?

I think rude is hating on the Redskins for no reason, for a LONG time and disappearing when its time to eat crow.

Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
Thanks Hog1. That's the first time I've read her column and more then likely the last. I wonder how people like her feel, being so wrong for everyone to see? I'd feel like an idiot. I wonder if she does?
|
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
It seems like Sally has written less about the Skins in general recently (although I don't regularly check her column so I might be wrong about that). If the team winning keeps her out of my life - like garlic to Dracula - that is enough for me.
Besides, JLC has replaced her as number one on my hit list. He's taken it to levels in that blog of his that Sally could only dream about as a columnist. |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
JLC is like a kid who's embarrassed because he got bad grades and now wants to get his teacher in trouble because of it.

Agreed Matty. There is passion in my fandom. I cannot, nor do I wish to be silent during this time of Redskin glory. |

I personally don't like to prematurely brag on the Skins outside of our circle of fellow fans, but it's true that we're not the players. We can brag if we want. If the fan's/media's thoughts and opinions trickled down to the team and affected them, then we would be..... The Dallas Cowboys!!! |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
my only question is how the hell someone writes about the redskins while LIVING IN NEW YORK CITY!! and see only seems to write articles (going back YEARS) after losses... never after wins, never saying anything good, always the sky is falling, the franchise is terrible, etc etc.
how the post can possibly feel like publishing her is a good idea is way beyond me. |

Stay humble folks.
You must have read her columns on the Skins? Now those are rude. You can be 100% sure any local or national sportswriter that responds to an E-mail knows it could be plastered on the internet the next day. She's made more than a "comment", she's consistently trashed the Skins for several years and most of her columns are based VERY loosely in fact just smart-ass one liners against the organization. We've waited a long time for this type of (what appears to be) consistent success. Everyone who supported what the FO is doing, Zorn, JC, etc. (and backed it up with facts) so far has been right and they have every reason to be happy and talk a little smack. We all know if the Skins were 0-5 or 1-4 the doom-n-gloomers would be bashing the FO, Zorn, JC and asking the rest of us how the "Kool-Aid" tastes and pointing out how wrong we were. |

Stay humble folks.
Great post. Sometimes I lose sight of the fact we have a new generation of Redskins fans on this sight that never experienced being a fan of Superbowl champion Redskins team. I see it in the threads that applaud or wish injuries on the opposing teams players. I see it on all the shit trash talk after we win. It is great to be happy about winning. But act like you have been there before. Nothing looks worse than than a classless winner. Leave that shit for losers like Philly that have NEVER won a superbowl. There is nothing more satisfying as a Redskins fan to beat a great team that has all of its players healthy. That way the press or the other team can not make excuses that they would have won if their best players were healthy. |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
I Feel like CP is going to bring out Dr Do Itch Big this week, I would make this a thread, but I do not know how to do it!!!! I can sense the Dr. at Redskins Park!

Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
sally jenkins is skanky looking fellas.is'nt there some rule up and around the dc area about letting ugly things like that out after dark?????you'd have to tie a t-bone around her neck to get a dog to pay attention to her.

Stay humble folks.
your joking right? Silly Jenkins is rude for not writing about the Skins doing good so far this season, not that I expected her too. As far as fans being excited and talking a lil trash, THATS WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOUR WINNING! Im not concluding a superbowl victory based on these wins.......yet. Our success is exciting, and we should celebrate it, bottom line. There is no shame in that. We are not just barely winning these games, were winning convincingly. Just looking at the scoreboard you would think the games were closer than they actually were, but their not. I for one am thrilled to death and refuse to bottle that up and be humble. That would be rude. |
Re: Where is Sally Jenkins... here she is
i have taken way too much shit down here as a redskins fan to sit back and be humble.
i'm gonna enjoy this ride from start to finish,if it lasts 5 weeks i'm gonna enjoy it,5 years i,m really, really gonna enjoy it,and if 10 years,i'll enjoy it but it will probably kill me!!!!!! but it would be worth it would'nt it? |
