Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
I just heard it on the Path To Draft on the NFL network, That Campbell is demanding to be traded if Sanchez is picked.
|
re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Right, but you have to write that in the thread title. Otherwise it reads, "Campbell is Demanding Trade."

re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Well A) ya I'd expect him to and B) I like it how zorn said at the presser "we are going to go forward as though Jason is our starting QB" instead of saying Jason will be our starting QB this year" this was to either sell into the huge sanchez smoke screen or they really do want sanchez and it isn't a smoke screen one bit and they want Campbell gone and done with.......................or they just want colt to start.. ..haha (sorta)

re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
He may not need to demand a trade. If they move up to draft Sanchez, he'll most likely be traded. In fact, it's possible they would need to include whatever pick they get for Campbell to help make the Sanchez deal.
I wish this wasn't even a possibility. I really like Campbell. HAIL! |
re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
I wouldn't blame him. Get him an o-line, not a backup!
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
I don't think he has to do much demanding, if they take Sanchez it's probably a given that they will trade him.

They might trade him if they don't get a quarterback. They are going to far with this. I can only hope that if this happens that Sanchez is the next great quarterback, because it will take allot to get there. |

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
So tired of hearing this Sanchez talk. I agree with Jason, he should ask for a trade, but what are we going to have to give up to get Sanchez.. I mean are we going to sacrafice this whole draft and some of next year to get an unproven QB?
Get o-line, de or lb... |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Where does JC say that? Heck the link doesn't even mention an unnamed source.

Its Colt time! The Days of Colt are near. No way can Sanchez out perform Colt.

So nothing from our nemesis Mike Florio, he would be on this type of news like flies to shit, I'm very surprised. (15 mins later after I posted this) Wait, there goes the fly to the shit...

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Well lets all say goodbye... I think JC saw this coming along time ago and he knows he will be traded anyway.

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Sanchez won't make us a better team this year. It would be one thing if we kept Campbell as the starter and let him go in FA and then handed the reins over to Sanchez. But this scenario has disaster written all over it. I doubt Sanchez will play up to what Matt Ryan did in ATL.
I pray someone else takes Sanchez. |

No doubt. I underestimated Dan Snyder when I thought that nobody could possibly screw up his relationship with his starting QB worse than the Broncos new coach did with Cutler. There's no smokescreen, IMO. That's not Snyder's style. I think he wants Sanchez. It simply remains to be seen whether or not the Skins can work a deal to get him. BTW, for those who haven't seen it, cbssportsline.com has a video where Phil Simms raves about Sanchez as a prospect. Check it out. |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Good for Jason to start planning ahead...I'd like to see him demand a trade no matter what now. I think Jason deserves a better owner and GM, and I think he'll have a much better chance of success w/ the majority of other franchises out there.
...it would just be hilarious if little Danny didn't get his new toy Sanchez w/ the JC situation now being totally untenable. Jason gets traded either during or after the draft and the little man and his goofball sidekick are left to explain everything. Oh yeah...Jason goes on to have a pro-bowl season! I'm I little surprised St. Louis hasn't shown interest in JC. Bulger's been hurt a lot right and Jason spent two years learning Saunder's offense. I guess that would seem a natural destination. |

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
I know all teams have players that demand a trade, some have a better arguement than others. However, guys are under contract making a few milllion, life cut be worse.
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
nothing surprising, but it still sucks.
The good thing is that JC is a pro & if he's here he'll do his best. Still, this is just reported evidence that all this cutler/dirty sanchez talk has gotten to him. I don't think that bodes well for the team overall in the short term no matter how this shakes out over time. |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
The real reason Joe Gibbs left was Dan Snyder he's an idiot.

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
If we really draft Sanchez, I'll be highly disappointed, and in my opinion JC will be within his right to leave the organization. I honestly believe that if he leaves, we'll be in rebuilding mode all over again.
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Without a doubt Sanchez equals rebuilding.
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Don't blame Jason if he wants to leave especially after the way the Skins and Snyder have handled things.
As long as Snyder and Cerrato are at the helm I see them pulling this crap every 3-4 years just because they can. At some point no one will want to go (unless all they want is the big bucks) and stay with our franchise. We are like mice on a wheel we just keep going round and round and ending up nowhere! |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
You could say we've been in rebuilding mode the second Snyder kicked Williams/Saunders to the curb after 2+ years of moving this team in that direction. Luckily we've not seen regression on defense, but the offense was tore to pieces last year. Whatever we built between then and now will be gone as soon as Sanchez takes the reins.
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
How can anyone with an unbiased mind blame Campbell for demanding a trade? I hate me first, needy players. Campbell has been anything but and his entire tenure here has been one of upheaval. I'm happy to see him finally shooting back, after getting embarrassed this entire offseason. Nothing to do now but wish him the best.
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Maybe they're planning to convert Snachez to outside linebacker or defensive end. Otherwise, this is the stupidest shit of the Snyder era.
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
This doesn't make sense to me? I understand that JC would want a trade. He'd be wasting his time if he didn't. This is a business.
Here's my questions. If we do get Sanchez then who starts? You'll have two guys who haven't thrown a snap in a REAL game and Collins. Who wins? If you mortgage your future for a pick then he has to start right? What happens when he does? You're going to start a guy you just drafted over two guys who already know the system, one of which rallied the team to the play-offs by beating Chicago, NY, and Dallas? Danny boy, beware of the Cult of Colt! |

That is the only sensible thing to do if they indeed take Sanchez. But then again to do that wouldn't be sensible in the first place. JC is and will be a better QB in the NFL than Sanchez ever will be. Now if they were pulling this stuf in 2010, I could see at least some rhyme and reason in it(getting McCoy or Bradford), but Sanchez isn't going to pan out. He is just the only big name in a rather weak QB draft year. |

My problem with this is if even if they don't go for Sanchez, it sounds like there is already bad blood between JC and the FO. Doesn't bode well for the season!!!!! With this latest fiasco I think JC is gone in 2010 for sure. Snyder will let him loose or JC is going FA and not even opt to resign!!!! |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Actually rethinking that it might bode well for 2009, as JC could get totally pissed and do great and take off after the season ends telling Snyder where he can stick his new contract offer. Snyder might have no choice but to deal for McCoy or Bradford then.

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Saturday could suck...
I'm still fairly convinced that QB is not our actual target but now with Jason talking a little bit...I'll admit I'm getting a little nervous. I really just can't find a way to believe that Sanchez is going to be so much better than Campbell. |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
This could set the team back a few years . OLine Danny ,,, OLine ! If we trade up to take him , we will probably give up too much , we gave up 2 freakin 1st's , a 2nd and 4th for JC , now 4 years later this ? If I were JC , I would welcome the challenge , if he looks like he can't handle competition , nobody will want to take him . Hell, he should come out and say something like ,,, this is my team and bring on the rookie, I love to compete . OLINE DANNY -VINNIE ,,, OLINE

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Is Jeff George still available?
|
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Snyderatto has burned this bridge beyond repair in my opinion. I'm beginning to believe that Zorn might be building Campbell up to his face but tearing him down to the FO. My gut instinct with the Zorn hire was that the FO must give Campbell at least 2 years to assimilate yet another offensive system, yet it appears that in typical Snyder fashion, we are going to change up at the most important position on the team. I was convinced that Campbell would be our QB for 10 years, but nothing is ever a given with the instability this owner brings to the franchise. I will be completely disgusted if we mortgage yet more draft picks to select Sanchez.
Its Colt time! The Days of Colt are near. No way can Sanchez out perform Colt.
You need to wakeup about Colt Brennan, the front office not thinking about him. Why would they be so in love with Sanchez if they thought Colt could start this season. They could just trade Campbell for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Sorry my friend Colt is not seeing any action in the regular season unless all the QB's get injuried. |
