Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

Ok, time to let Week One go and move forward.. Here's some things I'm looking to see against the Rams.

1. Aggressive game plans on both sides of the ball. This game could/should be over by halftime. If there was ever a game to come out and just bully a lesser opponent, I think the team (and the fan base) needs this for an early exhale. I'd love to see Zorn calling the game like we were down 21 pts coming out of the gate. I hope Blache unleashes the hounds on Bulger from the first snap.

2. Players to 'flash'. This is a game for us to see Malcolm Kelly score his first TD, Brian Orapko to record his first sack, Rogers to actually catch a pick (sorry). We're clearly the superior team going in and we need to leave no doubt about it.

3. TCB. Taking care of business. For the past decade (or more) we've been a team that plays to the level of our competition. That's why we've consistently lost games that we should have won and sometimes won games we probably should have lost. Playoff teams, which we aspire to be, don't let teams who they are clearly better than stick around. This needs to be an ass whipping. You want to silence questions and doubts, come out and hang 35 on St. Louis and do it in convincing fashion.

What you got?

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

This is the soft spot in our schedule. I'm not saying we should look past this in the least. But this is where it's time to get into an offense rhythm, especially in the passing game, to get ready for more difficult opponents.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

I think we'll see a much more focused and sharp effort on both sides of the ball. The Rams are bad, really bad. This one could get ugly. Yeah I'm well aware of what happened last year, and I'm sure the team is as well. Lightening isn't gonna strike twice here.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

I want to beat the spread. In other words, I want a double digit win, where we fans can be high fiving, saying things like "yeah but it's only the rams" and know that we were the better team by far.

and

no excuses.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

Putting last week behind us and getting on track, both offensively and defensively. It's time to cut down on mistakes, keep your head in the game and start ballin'. A solid defeat of the Rams is what we need right now. I'm looking forward to MUCH improvement this week, better play out of our secondary, less mistakes, less penalties, and a convincing victory.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

I want to see a dominant win.

I want to see the starters get their head out of their asses and play (Moss, Landry, etc., etc.)

I want to see better playcalling from both sides of the ball.

I'd like to see more of a passing game.

for semi vindication, I want to see the Giants destroy(literally and on the scoreboard) Dallas. If a punt or two hit the scoreboard, I would be ok with that.

The Rams wont win but the Skins wont blow them out and make the game ugly. The Skins dont have the firepower to blow anybody out.

I think the Skins have a real chance to now go 3-1. They have an easy schedule and if they are gonna have any chance to get into the playoffs they have to win all their games against the really weak teams.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

We need young players, such as Orakpo, Kelly, and Thomas, to really contribute. If they gain some confidence, that could really pay off down the road. This is why college teams like Florida open with opponents like Troy: to build confidence.

We need the entire offense to get into rhythm and be at least somewhat dominant. Same argument here: a little confidence can go a long way.

We need our corners to play tighter in coverage and do well playing tighter.

I'm with Matty, I think the team will remember last year against the Lambs and have a sour taste in their mouths from the Giants, a taste that they want to remove. I expect us to look good.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

Everybody says the Rams suck and are terrible, still they beat us at home last year. I think they are better than last year, have a new coach that knows our team very well. I think we will be beat them but you still got to play the game, just look at the Raiders last night, even thought they lost they put up a great fight. That's why they play the games.

...seeing Ritchie Incognito getting destroyed by Albert Haynesworth.

...watching Jason Campbell pick apart the weak Rams secondary.

...seeing one of the young receivers step up and have a big day.

...DeAngelo Hall actually tackle someone.

...several sacks from a combination of Orakpo, Carter and Griffin.

...the lack of excuses from my good friend, who's a Rams fan, because even he knows his team sucks.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

This needs to be a coming out party for all of the Redskin weapons, on offense and defense. I want to see total harassment of Mark Bulger by the defense. Anything less that 3 sacks and 3 turnovers will be unacceptable. The offense must sustain drives and score. Anything less that 21 points is a disappointment. I don't want to see a good game. I want a blowout of biblical proportions. An ugly, network switching to another game, ass whooping.

I'm with you all the way. I cannot stomach a loss to the Lambs. I live in the Gateway City and I'm surrounded by bandwagon fans. The Skins must put the male sheep out of their misery.

REDSKINS NEED TO MAKE MINCE MEAT OF THE LAMBS!!!

Bubba from Forrest Gump said it best,
"Anyway, like I was sayin', lamb is the fruit of the plains. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, lamb-kabobs, lamb creole, lamb gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple lamb, lemon lamb, coconut lamb, pepper lamb, lamb soup, lamb stew, lamb salad, lamb and potatoes, lamb burger, lamb sandwich. That- that's about it."

Neither team will want to go 0-2 in the standings, therefore we basically have two desperate teams going against each other.

I'm hoping to see more discipline, means fewer penalties.
Better 3rd down defense to give our offense more opportunities.
Consistency on offense, being able to sustain drives and score points. (an issue which can't be emphasized enough)
Secure tackling on defense, the first tackler on the scene makes the play, limit RAC.
Better play selection. No trick plays until a team has been setup for them, they then have a better chance of being successful.
Play alert, smart, tough and aggressive.
The Giant's game is closing in on fourty eight hours cold, time to move on to the next victum. Checking the archived post from the opener against the Giants this time last year, they seem erily simular, almost a carbon copy.

The cornerbacks playing press coverage.

Orakpo getting pressure on Bulger.

Haynesworth pancaking Incognito.

Kelly making a few highlight reel catches.

Campbell leading an efficient passing attack.

JoeRedskin 09-15-2009 12:34 PM

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

Passing the ball aggressively.

Sacks and knockdowns on Bulger.

Campbell have a multi-touchdown game and attacking the defense.

Zorn calling an aggressive game.

Kelly, DT and Davis actually being a significant part of the game.

The team, as a whole, getting its head out of its ass and playing with some fire.

Re: Week Two: I'm looking forward to...

My biggest fear is that the Skins will figure out a way to make this close and, perhaps, win by 10. Anything less than a 17 pt/21 pt victory and I'll be mildly disappointed. I say mildly because a win is a win, right? Skins lose and I guarantee you that Jim Zorn will be on the hot seat. I don't care if anyone from Redskins Park says otherwise. That would make Zorn 2-8 in his last 10 outings, if my math is correct. You can't dress that up.

What I'm looking for is purely statistical. Im not usually driven by stats and numbers, but we need to look good on paper, as well as on the field. I'd like to see JC throw for at least 280 yards and two touchdowns. I'd like to see Clinton get anywhere from 90-100 yards rushing and one score. Honestly, I think the defense will show up. They usually do. Two turnovers from that side of the ball would be great.

I won't say that the entire season is riding on this game, but if we lose and depending on how we win, it will definitely affect the team's physche going forward. This is Zorn's biggest game since becoming head coach of the Redskins..

I want to see an aggressive offense and a disruptive defense. Is that too much to ask?

The Giants attacked on both sides of the ball.

Hit hard, confuse, disrupt.

Reading Zorn's and the rest of the team's comments, I am just not seeing this attitude. I hated Buddy, and think his son's are a-holes, but damn - can we get some of that f***'ing aggression in this team? Not out of control-penalty aggression, but hit you legal hit you hard kinda of aggression.

Okay. rant done. oh wait--- god da**it, HIT THEM HURT THEM MAKE THEM AFRAID!!!
OFFENSE AND DEFENSE!!

<sigh> okay. done. for now.

If the Redskins jump out to an early 14-0 lead, I want to see us win by at least 21 points. I won't be disappointed if the Rams play a great game and make it close or even win it, but if we come out and dominate the first quarter, we better knock them out in the second and the third.

That could be one of their topics of discussion on their message boards this week.

The Rams have one player that concerns me more than any other, and that's because the last two times we played them he had very good games against us. His name is Steven Jackson.

If you saw Sheridan's defense in NY. What do you think Steve Spagnola is going to do? He knows the Redskin's pretty well.

This game will be won or lost by Skins defense.

Redskin's should win if they do not count the days till Zorn is gone.

1.) Play aggressive, smash mouth football.

2.) I like ARE in the slot, but how bout some two TE set's?

3.) Press coverage- Stop letting the receivers get into their routes!

4.) Play Laron close to the line of scrimmage. Let him make plays.

5.) Bring the PAIN and plenty of it. Dial up more blitzes to get to the QB.

6.) No more run, run, pass, punt. I wanna see a pass on first down and i dont mean a santana moss screen.

7.) Play Bobby Bushaey football!
