Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
This impending signing, which is now official, was mentioned in a couple other threads. But I thought I'd start a new thread because I'm all about starting new threads on FA signings that are really more just about having depth and bodies during mini-camp and training camp since Haynesworth won't be at mini-camp this weekend and Kemo won't be ready to play until training camp at the earliest, yet many of us will conclude that this is a clear sign that we are shipping Haynesworth out because nothing says trade AH like signing Howard Bryant and Greg Peterson

Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
LOL! He had one tackle last year.
He has 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks in three years. |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
this is the definition of camp scrub
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
And I believe Peterson will actually be used more as a DE which can only mean one thing....we're shipping Andre Carter out the door!

This is the move I've been waiting for! Shit, just cut the whole D-line and let Peterson play up front by himself. Championship! |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
Another former BA pick I'm guessing
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
Well he is young, lets hope we can coach him up.

Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
How do you feel about Marcus Spears from Dallas he is a solid DE.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
LOL, I love the sarcastic humor. No problems with starting new threads since it's an actual signing. It's the 100 different rumor threads that kills me. I have to check all of them.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
On a side note..... whatever happened to Howard Green? We supposedly have met with him for 2 days? Are we signing him also or not?

Old school lingo, when did you become so street, you forgot the to your mother part. Vanilla Ice Word to your mother. |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
What's particularly frustrating to me is, the D-line seemed to be the strength of the team. Now, presuming we lose Haynesworth and switch to a 3-4, the D-line appears a HUGE weakness.
Our O-line was the biggest weakness of the team by far, and yet, they have only signed 1 career back-up. In other words, they haven't done anything of note to strengthen the team's biggest weakness, and done everything to tear down the team's biggest strength. |

Haslett & co. will make Peterson a star. |

& this is based on what passed information. I like our LB coach coming out of Pittsburg he knows the 3-4 but if you can name any player Haslett made a star. |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
Ummmmmm. Really worthy of a thread? Really?
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
Not worth talking about. If this guy is still around in September, we're in serious trouble w/our defensive line.
Even Kemo reminds me about all the junk I read two years ago about Erasmus James, the defensive end who was a top draft pick & got injured, but somehow would miraculously come back and start for us some day. We're all hopeful that this Kemo comes back, but who knows? Can't... wait... until.. draft... day. At least then there will be real action, and PERHAPS offensive line help. |

It's a new signing. Yeah it's thread worthy. If it was just a visit then no |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
excellent signing. this guy is a major sleeper, literally everyone has been sleeping on him. dont be surprised if hes a pro bowler for the next 10 years. no need for haynesworth anymore.

Yep, god forbid we scout other players. Dude's a scrub and we can't put in the time to find a better person that nobody wants? |
Ummmmmm. Really worthy of a thread? Really?
yeah we should just have mega-threads for everything since they're so easy to jump into, they stay on topic so well, and they break down everything into nice segments starting next week the washington post will just put everything into one huge article too |

You know SS, I've noticed how some here are beginning to question your authority on posting threads. If you ever saw the movie Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World, there's a scene where Russell Crowe catches one of the crew members dissing one of his lieutenants. Crowe has to pull the lieutenant aside and remind him that if he allows things like that to continue, the crew won't respect him, and eventually they'll walk all over him. That crew member received 5 or 6 lashes with a whip. Just sayin' ... |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
Sound advice my friend

Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
It's the Chris Wilson thread redux.

Goat, no offense, but threads about actual news are a million times better than some of the other idiotic threads (i.e. failed Brandon Marshall threads, unnecessary Haynesworth threads, and any threads based on what PFT.com writes). |

Really? For dropping ARE and Cerrato, and then bringing in McNabb, i'd forgive them almost anything this offseason. We'll get worse on defense, and better on offense. That is the trend, i promise. Write that down. |

You'll on a roll this week, defending Roethlisberger's off-field conduct AND Landry's on-the-field performance! :laughing- |

Let's hope this guy contributes even half as much as Wilson |

I think he has been holding back, just waiting for the right opportunity. LOOK OUT BABY! |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
I think the new thread police need to chill the hell out and let the mods decide what is and isn't new thread worthy. And if you don't like a thread, just don't post in it, pretty simple if you ask me. A player signing is absolutely new thread material.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Greg Peterson
Yeah.. in mega-threads how the hell do you know what happened? I didn't know the Roethlisberger suspension was handed down until I hit ESPN.. figured the thread about him being off the hook was just more comments on how he is a scumbag
