So how did I do on my FF League?
This is only my 2nd season doing this FF thing and could really use your advice on this stuff...
It's a League based on just Redskins fans as well and it's a 12 man League. Here is my roster and who I drafted... Tom Brady Carson Palmer Adrian Peterson Carnell Williams Michael Bush Larry Fitzgerald Percy Harvin Michael Crabtree Braylon Edwards Kellen Winslow Chris Cooley Graham Gano Robby Gould Washington Oakland Now,I like to carry two defenses and 2 kickers not only because of the bye weeks, but I can make a switch there as well depending on Home/Away games, injury and teams they are facing, etc. Is this a bad idea? Do you recommend I do something to my roster or would you go to war with these guys? Thanks for your help! ace |
Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
Really? Dude you are killing us with the useless threads. There are plenty of threads on here currently about Fantasy Football.
Are you an attention whore??? |

The only time I reply to a post,is when I have something that's constructive to the thread or topic at hand. I'm a newb and been here for less than a month and you have been attacking me since. Are you this way with everyone? Or just me? If so...why? (BTW...I registered here after the Warpath had their Fantasy League setup and league underway.....otherwise,i would have just posted this there....that's why I created a new post Mredskins) Anyways..HTTR! |

Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
Two kickers? really? I've won without even one kicker some weeks
|
Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
I only carry one team D and one kicker. I frequently dump them and pick up different ones throughout the season depending on matchups. Both are pretty non-essential to your team, better to carry an extra RB and WR.
Ease up on the man mredskins, there are better ways to help out the newbs than to blast them. |

Anyway my take on your squad is that you shouldn't carry 2 kickers and 2 defenses, I would only carry 1 of each b/c with the 2 kickers and defenses that you have which ever one you cut, should still be sitting on the waiver wire if you need them down the line. Is this a points per reception league or not? I think you are solid at QB with Brady, shouldn't bench him except on his bye week or of course if he gets hurt. You have a solid back-up with Palmer, i would maybe try to work him into a trade at some point to strengthen your RB position b/c I feel that you are weak there other than of course AP. I would scour the waiver wire and look for some RB's and maybe another WR. They say Bush is out for a few, so McFadden is getting the start if he is still available. |
Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
Maybe we can modify this thread to be a Fantasy Football roster show off? If so here is my team. (My league has ten teams, we start 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 1 RB/WR, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, and 1 K)
QB1: Drew Brees QB2: Vince Young RB1: DeAngelo Williams RB2: LeSean McCoy RB/WR: CJ Spiller WR1: Greg Jennings WR2: Michael Crabtree TE: Tony Gonzalez D/ST: Steelers K: Stephen Gostkowski |
Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
You've got to tell us how the scoring works in your league in order to make an accurate assessment. However, I agree with everyone else that you shouldn't carry 2 defenses and 2 kickers.

And yeah, I never carry more than one kicker or defense. Well, occasionally more than one D if my #1 happens to be dominant and on a bye. But never more than one kicker. My rule is to never, ever take a kicker before the last round. I've been in leagues where guys are taking kickers in the 10th round. Silly. |
Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
actually, for a 12 man league, that draft is pretty damn awesome.
Fitzgerald, Adrian peterson AND Brady??? damn, you must have some idjits in your league......whew. Id love me some of that team. |
Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
Two kickers? really? I've won without even one kicker some weeks
I won a game last year without a starting Quarterback. My only quarterbacks were Kurt Warner and Matt Ryan. (well, I had Jason Campbell on the bench but there was no reason to ever consider starting him). I benched Warner because I knew he was going to be out. Ryan wasnt even on the injury report and then didnt play the game. I was so ticked. But I won. QBs are overrated. This is my fantasy roster. Took some big gambles on the WRs but couldnt pass on the value with the 20th and 40th picks. QB - Matt Ryan RB - Chris Johnson RB - Shonn Greene RB/WR - Malcom Floyd WR - Larry Fitzgerald WR - Calvin Johnson TE Chris Cooley D/ST - Ravens K - Graham Gano (last pick. Only Kicker left whose name I recognized. I swap kickers out every week). Bench: WR - Steve Smith (Carolina - Accidental Autopick) RB - Clinton Portis RB - Brandon Jaacobs (Accidental Autopick) RB - Steve Slaton QB - Mark Sanchez RB - Darren McFadden WR - Anthony Gonzalez |

Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
aceinthehouse -- It's insane to waste picks on backup defenses, kickers, and TEs. You take someone off the waiver wire in the weeks with bye problems. It's much more beneficial to be gambling on late rounders like Naanee, Aromashodu etc. You can also take big backs' handcuffs like Javon Ringer and Bernard Scott.

Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
WTF, here is my $$$ league team. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.
It's a 12 team league, with 2 keepers; 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, TE, K, Def. I hated drafting Romo but passing TDs are worth 6pts in our league and he was around in the 5th so I felt like I had to even though I was keeping Ryan for an 8th (dumb move by me). NMorgansFistofFury 1. (3) Maurice Jones-Drew (Jac - RB) 2. (22) Greg Jennings (GB - WR) 3. (27) Marques Colston (NO - WR) 4. (46) Jonathan Stewart (keeper) (Car - RB) 5. I think Lynch could be a steal in the 14th, especially if he gets traded, but another TE for the first few weeks might be better while Daniels heals up a little more.

With Gore/Crabtree/Davis, you have way too many 49ers. I would say to keep Gore definitely, but try and move Crabtree if you can get good value for him and you should be able too. Thanks for the assessment.I'm definitely thin on the 2's and 3's, especially at RB. The way the league works is you have 5 skill positions where 1 has to be WR and 1 has to be a RB. The other 3 can be any combo of RB/WR/TE. I also have a good feeling about Jones as well and if Cutler can pick up that offense in Chicago, Knox could blow up. |

This is a keeper league that I'm in and Brees has been carrying my team for the past two years, including winning the league two years ago. I think D. Williams could be a good RB, but Jonathan Stewart may take carries away from him. I hope Williams stays healthy, he looked GREAT during the preseason, so I hope that carries. I really don't know what to make of McCoy, maybe Kolb sucks it up and they decide to run the ball. I know Spiller is a toss up, if he doesn't break down he should be a good RB. I have Tim Hightower on the bench, and he will be a good back up. I really like Jennings, I think he'll have a monster season. And we'll see about Crabtree, he put up some good points coming into the middle of the season last year. |

Why? Because my team's success will be linked too much to the success of the 49ers offense? I guess i see the logic there but Davis and Gore have come through in the past for me. My WRs are very boom bust and i'll be going with the hot hand, but i have a deal working for Cutler. |

If it were 3 Colts or Saints, I could see your logic b/c they put up a ton of points. I completely agree with Gore (top tier guy) and if you have to play a TE keep Davis (top tier guy), but if I were you, I would try to move Crabtree and pick up a stud from another team. Obviously it's your squad, so you do whatever you want. The 49ers aren't going to score tons of points, so if you have 3 guys starting from that team at the same time, you're going to struggle in at least 1 of those positions if not 2. If Gore stays healthy, he is going to be a stud. It's just my 2 cents, good luck! |

12-team league...I showed up for this draft. Shocked how good this team is.

Yeah, another RB is definitely needed. Try to trade one of those WRs. Cotchery's numbers will be inflated before Holmes comes back...he's a sell-high early on. |

MJD is fine, no issues with his knee, but I would definitely get Rashad Jennings just in case. I feel like your squad is very strong with your starters, but you definitely lack depth in case someone goes down with an injury and during bye weeks. |
Re: So how did I do on my FF League?
I also agree with the above about trying to move Cotchery sooner rather than later. A guy I highly suggest you look at and he's probably still on the waiver wire is Lance Moore WR from New Orleans. I've read where they say he poised for a big year and could take over the #2 spot from Meachem.
