Since 2000, the Redskins have had winning home marks just twice – 5-3 in the 2002 and 2007 seasons. And cornerback Carlos Rogers expressed slight frustration Monday with certain fans who aren’t supporting the team.
Click the link to read the rest. Really can't stand Carlos anymore, he really pisses me off. I never boo the team or anything, but it's easy to see why the fans get pissed off, two winning seasons at home in 10 years, absolutely pathetic. If he could catch the ball we'd probably have one more win at home this season. I'm not going to lie, I hate paying 4K seeing 4-12 performances. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I think he understands, but it sucks to be booed. I mean I wouldn't be too happy about it either if I were a player, but it would still frustrate me.
|
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I don't see anything that inflammatory. Surely not enough to say that I "can't stand" him.
"I love these fans. We've got good fans. Good, supportive fans," Rogers said. "Yes, they hard on us. And we do give 'em a reason to be hard on us, because we're not winning. But at the same time, you do want that support and encouragement that, 'Y'all can pull this out.' Or, 'Y'all can turn around.'..."
|
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
He makes good sense of you ask me. Nothing like having people pile on you when your down and they are suppose to be on your side. If you don't like waht he said then you don't like the truth.
|
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I'm sure players don't like to get booed, but they have not been a very good team over the past couple of years.

I can't stand him because of his terrible play, his dropped interceptions, might I add this is his second time talking about this. You would think he would say hey, maybe we should play better, rather than complain about the reactions they are getting from playing bad. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
Did he even play yesterday?

Went out with an injury I believe. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I still heart you Carlos Rogers.
Not in a gay kind of way but in the "I would have a bigger man crush on you if you would pick the ball off more often" kind of way. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
Rogers' hands are so bad he can't even handle catching shit from the fans.

Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
From the article:
“Me and some of the guys were talking about that earlier,” he said. “Sometimes you feel when you’re at home that you’re away because you get so bashed at home for any little mistake. “We come to the sideline or the bench and it’s cussing, it’s this, it’s that and we’re just in the first quarter. We’re like, ‘Are we at home or are we away?’ I think we play better away because the fans are quieter.” Rogers added: “We still want the support from the fans. If you don’t like the team or don’t want to support us through the good or the bad, why come out to the games? We’re already losing and then to hear it from our fans, it’s not helpful. We try to block it out.” I think Rogers and "some of the guys" need to get rid of their vaginitis, toughen the F up, and protect home field. If they start winning at home on a consistent basis, then they won't catch so much crap from the fans. When you're paying a significant amount to go to the games you expect a good product and we haven't had a good product at home for quite some time. Over the last two years the product has been particularly bad. Then to have a millionaire who has been part of the problem whine about getting booed or cursed at by some fans......C'MON MAN. |

I've got no problem with what he's saying
He can say all he wants, but guess what, we never see it. I will talk down on them till they give me a reason to talk good on them. There's a reason I go into games with the feeling we're going to lose. It's not because of me, it's because of them. |

Yeah, four seats plus parking. They don't start showing signs of improvement, probably won't be getting them much longer. Willing to wait another season or two because I know it doesn't change over night, but I could be spending that money on much more important thing. |

Wow! What type of seats do you get? |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
Rogers should try playing in Philly to see what surly fans are really like.

Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I hope the redskins win next week so this message board doesn't over flood again with over analysis of every single thing every person says.
It's like the post where someone complained with Bucahnnon said 10-6 wasn't that far off and the poster accused him of looking ahead and not focusing and thus a reflection of the entire staff not preparing them to play football because of a single post-game comment. |

Seems to be a big mix at Fedex. for the Steelers game there was actually a guy at the tunnel with a sign that said wish you were black and gold or something similar. He was almost touching the Skins players with it as they exited. |

I've got no problem with what he's saying
Me either....The entire team is well aware of the fact they haven't been playing well, but they don't need to constantly be reminded through some of the behavior I've come to witness at some of the games. There's a way to voice displeasure without being just plain rude and disrespectful. |

Why yes he did, he got cooked by the TE who released straight off the line in a crucial Minn drive in the second half. |

Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
Ya nothing too bad here...
Keep in mind Carlos is the best DB on our team so think twice before you run him out of town. That being said he cost us the game yesterday when Shiancoe turned him around. :( |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
Im a fan since George Allen area, a real Redskin fan. I love this team and yes it sucks when we lose but I have to be realistic this team was 4-12 last season with a new HC. We still have the majority of the same players but who are learning a new system so why would we think this team is good enough to make the playoffs coming out of the NFC East. If we were in the NFC West then we may have a good chance to make the playoffs. Let's just sit back and watch this team play hard every week and keep the games close. We just don't have enough play makers on both sides of the ball right now. Our D-Line has mostly back ups who should not be starters but because we don't have better talent we have to live with Daniels, Carriker, Kemo and Golston as starters. Our Linebackers are undersized and slow but they do play hard every game. London is a baller but he is getting up in age. Brian Orakpo just can not make enough plays because teams and focus on him, due to no other threat on the D-Line. AH does not play enough to make a difference he needs to be traded next season if he only plays on passing downs. I'm going to continue watching the games but not expect much this season < I suggest you do the same so when we lose you wont be so pissed off.

Well just like Lavar said on his show today... "These guys should be focused on what's going on, on the field. That's your job." Sounds about right to me.

I'm going to the Dec 19th game in Dallas but honestly I like watching the games at home more.. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I like Carlos, but he just picked a fight he can't win. You NEVER call out the fans who's paying your salary especially win you're losing. No offense to Carlos, but after that embarrassing shalacking in front of the nation against a division rival, I don't want to hear about fans being too hard on them. I didn't play in the game and I still hear about it from opposing fans.

The true villain here is Snyder. He milks as much money as possible out of the fans, annually goes out of his way to create unrealistic expectations and puts a crappy product out there on a consistent basis. I pay to go to one or two games a year but this team still gets me pretty upset. I can't say that I am that mad at the players and wouldn't yell at our guys like Carlos described. The players don't choose to sit our most talented defensive player most of the time. |

Quick, everyone pile on!!! Bring your pitchforks!
Calling out the fans is picking a fight with them. They're really gonna let him have it now. As someone on 980 apparently said, "you can't ask the fans to be the 12th man when the first 11 don't show up". |
