Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
This is just embarrasing. The Redskins need to be a little more responsible in over serving and removing fans who have had too much to drink.

Usually what happens when you sell tickets cheap and they go to people who can't hold their alcohol.

Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
These morons give drunks a bad name.

Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
Gosh, what a bunch of idiots! If that's what I'd have to deal with going to a game, I'd rather just stay home!

Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I wonder if these guys were a few of the thousands of idiots that were cheering and applauding when A. Peterson was injured. Bunch stupid m'fers...

Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
And this isn't the first video I've seen with Redskins fans fighting at games on youtube.

even tennis fans are getting into the act. i used to get in a good bit of fights at sporting events. ive mellowed down alot and have learned to somewaht control my alcohol but i understand where the under 25 drunk guy is coming from. football is sold to us as a sport of gladiators going toe to toe on the gridiron. the images of jack lambert with missing teeth and bloody taped knuckels is teh image the NFL spat out for so long. i used to feel like it was my job as a young rowdy fan to give it to opposing fans. to protect this house! i dont know what happened, i guess i matured some. i guess i took too many lumps, i guess i go to games with my lady now instead of a roaming pack of wolves (yeah thats a hangover ref). 2-3 years ago i was at a orioles game and we were playing cleveland or something. my lady said she wanted to go, it was about the 6th inning, so i said hold on im gonna get escorted out of here (b/c i hadnt been kicked out of a game that year). i went down a few rows to a group of guys, 1 was wearing a yankees hat, i took it off and threw it in his lap and said "not in our house". he and his buddies just sat there and looked at me. we were about the same age except i was acting like an immature punk while they acted like the late 20 early 30 professional they were (and i was too). i just felt so stupid walking back up to our seats. dont get me wrong, i still do stupid stuff at games and basically anyone who goes to a game with me gets a list of "do nots" like im a gremlin. im proud to say, for whatever reason or combination of reasons, i go to games to enjoy it and pump up the crowd and not be a protector of all things skins. but the rowdy violent nature that some drunk male fans display is a product of the NFL marketing imo. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I feel for the kid in that Tennis match, sure yelling argument, but the man attacked him, then the wife attacked him and all the dudes grab him like he did something wrong. Self defense. Ignorant people, then again they all watch Tennis for a reason :cheeky-sm.

Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I think SS already posted all this.
Personally I think shit like this is stupid and ruins it for families that want to take their kids to the game. The Redskins are not a nation and the Cowboys are not terrorists, they are just teams that you root for for a couple hours o na Sunday afternoon. Win or lose the Redskins have zero impact on my life, so why would I beat someone up over them? but the rowdy violent nature that some drunk male fans display is a product of the NFL marketing imo.-OTM I also agree with this. Lets feed you alcohol for six hours and then entertain you with a violent sport. "Oh look they have turned on themselves, shocking!" |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
As a season ticket holder by far the most fights I see are between Redskins fans and.... other Redskins fans.

Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
This is a big part of why I don't waste my time/money going to games. Besides, HD tv and the RedZone channel make the NFL so much more fun on television.

Well if you are at FedEx the amount of Redskins fans to opposing team fans ratio lends this to be true. If you are drunk and want to fight most likely the closet folks to you are skins fans. It is the same at all stadiums. If you want a fun filled family sporting outing in this country anymore take your family to a minor league baseball game. I go to about 10 a year everyone in the family has a great time. Never see a fight, rarely hear a swear, always something fun going on between innings and the price plus everything that goes a long with it for 10 games cost half of going to one NFL game. |

Plus traffic and parking.. I love watching the games at my house, I'm 5 mins away from Owen Field here in Norman and I hardly ever go to games |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
I'll tell you one thing, if I'm at a Skins game and one of those drunk ass morons ran into my wife, someone call a bail bondsman because I'm beating someone down. WTF. These people are so stupid.
Like SS said, these are farm from the sharpest knives in drawer. |

Honestly though, college games really are a different experience. When I lived in Gainesville, most of the time I was walking distance from the Swamp. The wife (then my girlfriend) and I would get up on gamedays, make breakfast, and walk downtown to meet some friends at a tailgate, then just stroll into the stadium. It's right in the heart of downtown, and so easy to deal with. I guess it's different in small towns. Plus they don't sell booze in the games, which really helps as far as morons in the stands. FedEx field is such a stupid, overpriced, clusterf*ck of an experience. I could care less if I never go to another game there. |

There were several fights on Sunday, in the bathroom, up in the ghetto 4 and sec. 108 where someone caught a glimpse and posted it. Many of these idiots have already had far too much to drink when they enter the stadium and proceed to make the experience uncomfortable for those around them. |

And also when I get away from my wife and kids Iwant to just get drunk and rowdy, what are we cavemen? Probably 95% of the folks at the game create a family atmosphere it is the 5% that ruin it for the rest. I don't go because I don't want to deal with the 5%. IMO if the stadiums up the security and too ka hard stand on fighting and drinking the 5% would easily dwindle to manageable 1%. |
Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
yeah stadium security at Fed Ex is lazy. i was in teh upper section a few years ago, 2 skins fans are wailing on each other at the entrance to a bathroom for a good minute. a lady goes up to 2 people, 1 was a security guard another a female usher of sorts, she says there are 2 guys fighting in the bathroom, which was literally 10 feet away from were these 2 employees are. the guy smiles and joking laughs with the lady usher saying "shit i aint doing nothing".
then there are times were i have been caught on video surveillance in the lower row and i get a letter in the mail saying how i was caught on video and this is a warning. so idk, i get busted on video in the lower section for dumping beer on opposing fans but its a free for all in the uppers. hoestly, what do you expect the 22 year old temporary security guard from PG county who makes $8.50 an hour on 8 sundays a year to do? |

Re: Idiots at the Skins vs. Vikings Game
yeah or go with an off duty police officer! did that at an eagles game, he came strapped. as a joke he decided to not tell the guys who do teh pat downs that he was an officer and had his gun, the guy pats him, face goes white when he feels the gun, then my buddy told him he was a cop, showed his badge, etc. pretty funny.
