|
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200

|
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
This is great news for everybody. I had the Ticket last year despite living in-market and I enjoyed it tremendously.

Fo Real. F the Panthers. They have done nothing but come into the league and ruin my NFL viewing life. |

^agreed

Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
I've paid their astronomical price for 10 years, at least. Finally a bit more respectable price. I was considering dropping it this year and take my chances of finding streaming games.

Finding streamed games of good quality was tougher last year than the year before. The internet police appear to have raised their game. |
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
For those of you who had it on the ps3 last year, how did it work exactly? Specifically I want to know it you can pause and rewind the live stream.
Also, for example, let's say the skins play at 1 but I can't start watching until 2. Can I just click on the game at 2 and start watching from the beginning? |
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
BEST news all day ...
|
I had it last year as well. This is goin to save some cash. I hope the to go portion is reduced as well.
|
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
This is awesome news! I had just talked my fiancee into letting me have NFL Sunday Ticket when we get married, since N.C. decided to go the Panthers route.
|
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
Respectable price. I notice a few threads over the years on ES where customers would call in each year to bitch about new subs getting it free and they would get it 1/2 off. This is pretty much what they should have done from the get go.

Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
I had Direct TV for one year and couldn't take it anymore. Customer service was awful, picture constantly went out. Never again. Verizon has that Red Zone thing that's almost as good and a lot less headache.

Yeah I hated Direct TV when I had it. I am lucky to live in area where I can get DC channels, but it sucks that they are the only option. Ugh. |

I personally love the Red Zone better then Direct Ticket. IF I was out of market for Skins I the ticket but the Zone is so fun to watch especially if you are trying to follow your fantsay team. No commercials, all HD, scrolling stats and scores on the side bar and they only bring you to pivotal moments in each game. IF the Skins are not playing I am watching the Red Zone. |

Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
Haven't needed to pay for DirecTV in a long time. Now I probably kind of do. But with Red Zone, I think I'll be fine
|
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
I've always been quite happy with DirecTV. Time Warner absolutely blows in comparison.

Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
this is looking like my best option for skins games at 10am this year

Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
I live in KY, close to Tennessee Titans territory, so unless I want the Titans every Sunday (yuck!) I have bought Sunday Ticket for 3 years now. Great news!!! However, I will say with 17 weeks of Thursday night games coming this year, the number of Sunday games is getting fewer. How can they keep charging over $300 when their product is smaller now than last year? The skins have not played a lot of Nationally televised games in years past, so the opportunity to watch them for free on an ESPN, NBC is not there. Out of market skins fans have to get the ticket.

It's $200 now |
Re: DirecTV drops price of Sunday Ticket under $200
This = great news. I've pretty much signed my life over to Directv already since I'm in CA and Sunday Ticket is the only way I'm able to watch the 'Skins with any regularity. Paying less for the same thing I'm already getting makes me happy.

As former co-chair of ESPN's anti-piracy committee I thank you for recognizing my work :) You know who was really instrumental in getting NFL games on devices like the PS3?...Dan Snyder |

You know who was really instrumental in getting NFL games on devices like the PS3?...Dan Snyder[/quote] You obviously did a good job! You have read me argue that some folks streamed because the price of Sunday Ticket was back-breakingly high for them and they would quit streaming and go legit if things became more affordable. Note that I was not condoning piracy with this argument, just explaining it. Therefore I think this announcement by Directv is a major step in the right direction. For people like me who want to do things the legal way, $200 is much more feasible. It'd still be cool to see an a la carte plan but this plan works, too. BTW Although it is possible that I have joined Fox streams, I have never pirated from ESPN. :) |

I mean I could see them getting easily $25 a game off people. |
I have been out of market for over 20 years now. I have had Sunday ticket since its inception and rarely miss a game. The Red Zone and mix are awesome when the Skins are not playing. A little happier that my price is now less after all of these years.

So you're the reason I couldn't find a decent stream when I was in NC during a football weekend last year! :D Seriously though I know how hard it was to find a stream last year, so kudos to you for doing your job effectively. With the Ticket at 200 this year now, I doubt I'll have a problem when I'm out of town, seeing as how I'm sure my friends would easily pay 200 over 350. |

Other than Monday Night games NFL wasn't a major point of focus Also, my own recommendation to upper management was a bit controversial...and would have flipped the industry on its head (or something like that) Furthermore, a la carte plans are not as cheap as one may think |

Also I would think a la carte plans wouldn't be as cheap as we think, mainly because it would cost a cable company more to carry an entire channel devoted to one team, plus when you think along the lines of "buy in bulk = save" the a la carte mode wouldn't seem as attractive as once thought. |
