I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
So we all have that one player/coach on the Redskins that we don't like/don't believe in/don't think belongs on our roster/staff
Yet as Redskins fans, we (I hope) want to be proven wrong this coming year So who's that One player or coach you have been so frustrated with but you want him to shut you up this year? Is it DeAngelo Hall, Kyle Shanahan, Trent Williams, Jammal Brown, Pierre Garcon, Danny Smith? Someone else? For me I'll say Kevin Barnes. To me he's been a major disappointment and I just don't believe he's a viable option for our defense anymore. If he's on our roster in 2012 then I really hope he shuts me up |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Jammal Brown.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Danny Smith. (ST coach)
MeAngelo Hall. (overrated and over burned CB) |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Kyle Shanny, I dont think he has been everything as advertised. I need to see the offense excell and I dont know if he is the person to coach them to success. I think Orange Shanny is much better at running he offense than his son. Kyle, you piece of shit, shut me the f*ck up.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
I want Kevin Barnes to prove to me that he is a bona fide starting CB in the NFL.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
D Hall is a constant, then Barnes, then I'll actually say Fred Davis. I know he put up #s but if you watched, a lot of his #s came in garbage time against soft zones. Can put more into blocking too, and of course don't smoke anything!
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Trent Williams. I think he's a good starting tackle in the NFL but I want him to step up and become the elite tackle we know he can be.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
The whole team. I want to see that we're moving in the right direction and show some progress.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
D. Hall.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
It's Mike Shanahan. Since you've been here you've made some real questionable moves. Your record here isn't very good. Now you've just traded away part of the future for a rookie stud. Can you make it work? Can you and Kyle design an offense around him like Rob Chudsinski (sp) did for Cam Newton? I need to see progress THIS YEAR. We still might win 5-6 games and I'm ok with that. But this team better show promise, excitment and creativity on offense. It's put up or shut time for Mike Shanahan.

Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
I would have said Landry, but he's gone so I don't really care what he does.
I guess lacking any players that I can think of I'll go with both Kyle and Haslett. I wouldn't consider myself much of a hatter for either of them, but I also don't think either is that great. |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Hey Mike and Kyle this is the NFC BEAST not that pansy ass afc crap your used to. Do something and shut me the F%^&*K up!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Jamaal Brown and Kevin Barnes. Both could be very good players, but both lay some definite stinkers on a disturbingly consistent basis. Lets see if they blossom or bust this year. I believe their play this year will define the careers for both players.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Jim Haslet, Mike S., Kyle S, and the rest of the staff. You guys are in year 3 as a unit. Let's see some more improvement this year, not just in competing and losing but competing and winning a few more games. 8-8 with a rookie QB would make me happy and would actually make me believe we will compete soon.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Good thread.
I want to see us win the "luck" battle. I want to see the ball bounce back into our hands on a fumble. I want positive fluke things to start going OUR way this year. I want us to show even more heart and win the close games we typically would lose last year. Specifically, I'd like to see Helu/Royster shut EVERYONE up and prove they're starting backs. I constantly read about how they need a "playmaking" RB to the point I almost believe it. I want them both to stay healthy and prove me and everyone else wrong. |

What are you talking about? The Eagles, Giants and Cowboys all pass the ball. This isn't the NFC East of the past. |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Mine would be Chris Wilson... my arch-nemesis.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Kyle Shanahan
AFAIC he hasnt done squat yet in the NFL. I'm also askeered he'll have no idea how to use RG3. |

Well no $hit. Mike and Kyle need to man up, coach up and beat their azzes. And that goes for the NFC in general. |

Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
DeAngelo Hall.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Kyle Shanahan
I think becasue SS was so pumped about him coming which got me pumped and he has at best fizzled since he has gotten here. He was some real talent this year lets see if he makes it happen. |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
I would say D. Hall. Runs his mouth too much and thinks he is way better than he has actualy played on the field. Made some bonehead moves last year, and ELITE corners go unnoticed when they guy they are covering is kept quite.
As far as hearing Shanny's (both) and Haslett being mentioned. Shanny has put us in a good position by bringing in young talent in basically two years. Put us in position with potential good RB's, WR's, TE's. Youth on defense. Kyle's success is directly related to the talent on the field. Grossman held that back last year. He ran a very successful offense in Houston when he had the talent. We seem to have the talent this year, so I suspect we'll be much better on points scored. As far as Haslet....I just dont get where people are upset with the guy. He took a D that ranked 31st in the first year of a 3/4 switch all the way up to 13. Let the league in 3rd down stats most of the year, in the top (near) most of the year in sacks. Had a depleted secondary for the majority of the season. If anything, I think Haslett has proved to be a damn good coach |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Great thread! And like someone said the team needs to shut EVERYONE up w/ excitement and wins.
But it really starts at the top, and this is a make/break season for Mike and Kyle in my estimation. I hope they have the offense so finely tuned and explosive I'll look like a fool for ever doubting. It starts w/ how they work w/ Griffin and does he look confident in the system. Griffin is the future i.e. it's paramount we have a coaching staff in place that will maximize his talents, abilities and overall potential. If the Shanahans don't make serious headway w/ Griffin's development this season it's absolutely critical we find coaches who can, because I think we all see his potential. |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Danny Smith, can we please go a game with out a blocked kick or a out of bounds kickoff
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Orakpo. He gets a lot more praise than he deserves. He's not very good in coverage and when he rushes seems to have one, fairly ineffective, move. I think he's being misused as an OLB and is a legitimate all-star at 4-3 DE. I want to see that he has made strides to improve his pass rush skills to be able to regularly beat the LTs in this league. We can say he gets held all we want, but it obviously doesn't get called -- it's time to switch it up.
If our defense is going to be electric we need pressure coming from both sides. |

I'm really glad you said Jim Haslet first! But the whole stinkin lot have done nothing here. I hope they shut me up! |

I second this. I am sick of hearing that we are headed in the right direction and blah blah blah, I want to see results. |

The OL.

Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
Can we sign Malcom Kelly and Devin Thomas back for this thread?
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
I want the front office to shut me up and draft some linemen in the mid-rounds. They binge on Wide Receivers talking about competition while our offensive linemen are practically becoming tenured. They're obviously not nearly as bad as Cerrato was in regards to builidng the O-Line but theres still a little bit to much neglect for my liking.

Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
In no particular order
1.Mike Shanahan 2.Kyle 3.Rex G 4.G. Gano |

this is true. i still think Freds a beast but.. nonetheless he needed to make more plays when the game wasnt out of reach and we needed him to get extremely open for Grossman to find him for a 1stdown and like you said playing soft coverage at that point |
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
DeAngelo Hall was disappointing to watch last season. Until he starts covering elite wide receivers better, he'll be just an average corner.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
I really dont think DHall should even be mentioned. Theres many teams with a lesser #1 CB and if were crying over DHall or nebody who is for that matter lost all touch with the game to me. Maybe DHall will be a liability in a couple years with ageing but not NOW. Hes not Champ Bailey we know that... hes not perfect either we know that too but DHall is consistent enough TO ME to not be mentioned on a shut me up thread because hes had some nice performances for us and i cant think of one game he was the reason we lost besides the ONE PLAY Dez got free for ONE CATCH after DHall had shut him down all game. And if u ask me it was our offense to blame that game.

Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
It's kind of late for the front office to prove me wrong (though they'll have plenty of time this weekend to make me look bad), so I'll go with Kyle Shanahan. Make RG3 and Pierre Garcon and Leonard Hankerson look like a real, NFL passing offense that can light up the scoreboard. Outscheme the opposing defensive coordinators on a weekly basis. Show me you're better at your job than Mike would be.
|
Re: I Want ----- To Shut Me Up In 2012
I hate to say it, but I'd like Garcon and Morgan to prove me wrong.
I don't think they're terrible or anything, I just feel like they're the type of receivers that you pick up in your fantasy league in the middle of the week because you're #3 WR pulled his hammy. |

Problem with Hall is he consistently gives up those big plays. I miss Rogers. He dropped some INTs -- but rarely did his receiver make big plays. If they caught the ball, he made a tackle shortly after. |

I think I just want more consistency out of him. Its not bad to be average so long as you're consistent. Sometimes D.Hall is snagging 4 ints in a game and other times he's getting burned left and right and saying he deserves to be cut from the team. I don't mind a guy who isn't going to get a ton of ints, but can shut down his man. I just want Hall to shut his mouth and be consistent. |
