NBA Season 2013-2014
Wiz gonna be straight bangin. Beal is gonna morph into a better shooter earlier than Gilbert did. People keep saying Wall with the contract, but Beal is going to be a more essential piece for this team. Im expecting 5,6, or 7th seed. Worried bout Okefor, but is he can play 75%-80% of the games this season we should be aight.
Eager to see what that Houston team can do. Can they break into top tier West with Thunder, Spurs and Clips? Im pulling for my west coast teams Nuggets (always) and Golden State too. Curry could be MVP if that team can play slighty better around him. Nugs gonna be aight, Brian Shaw finally getting his chance to shine. |
Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
Yeah, the Wiz should be good. I don't expect them to make a playoff run, but they should get into the playoffs baring some devasting injuries.

I like.the wiz chances this yr in a very bad east

Re: NBA Season 2013-2014

The draft next year compare this past is night and day. You have 5 possible superstars coming out. Boston has already put together the entire package to tank the season. |

yeah chico i guess there are a bunch of teams maneuvering to get wiggins
|
Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
Basketball is that one sport you can't tank in because of that stupid ass lotery system. 76ers can tank for the worst record and still end up with the 3rd overall pick.

Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
Gortat? Any opinions? I thought we might have been able to get Monroe or faried? SS what u think of the wiz this year or the move? Or anybody else
|
Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
Well I was hoping it's be more than just Gortat, but it seems like that's all they want. He's solid offensively and allows Nene to play the 4, which makes more sense. Curious to see how they mesh with Beal and Wall though.
Clearly this is a we need to make the playoffs now move. |
Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
I think it was a great move by the Wiz, I was thinking they would keep Brown and Marshall but either way, I have them in the playoffs this year.

sweet. such a disappointing player |
Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
What's with the Wizards? We keep getting all this good young talent in the draft and still stink. The Wiz are like the opposite of the Redskins; plenty of good young talent, still losing.
|
Saw the wiz live the other night. Good young team IMO and should have beat us

WTF is going on? Why cant we get an answer? Sidebar, I think I hate Ernie Grunfeld more than I hated Vinny...which is extremely amazing. |

Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
Wiz have to win Wednesday to avoid the Heat in the first round. Chicago or Toronto is going to be tough, either way.
|
Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
Wiz are going to lock up the fifth seed. On the road Sunday against the Bulls for Game 1. Bulls are a defensive puzzle and Noah is playing out of his mind this season. Washington is going to have to keep up its ball movement.

Yeah the local media pundits who think every team here is a potential dynasty are already babbling endlessly about how great of a matchup this is for the Wizards, because they beat Chicago two of three times. ??? The two wins were both relatively close, and back in January when the Bulls had just traded Luol Deng and they were 17-19 at the time. Since then the Bulls have gone 31-15 and are a very tough defensive team and very well coached. Plus the last time they played it was embarrassing, like 58-26 at the half for the Bulls. |

After their first round series with the Bulls in the 90s, Jordan also predicted the same for this team. Since then, Webber was shipped away for the AARP version of Mitch Richmond, the following (and current) genius GM passed on Steph Curry and Ricky Rubio for a one year rental of Randy Foye and Mike Miller and a wild west card game dispute served as the Coup de grâce. I like the new squad, however... but not ready to crown 'em just yet. Not especially with the old FO regime still in place. |

He's turned them into a pretty decent defensive squad, especially in the fourth quarter... but his rotations and last second play-calling are reminiscent of Eddie Jordan's. Thibs is going to coach circles around Wittman... it's going to come down to Gortat vs. Noah, three point efficiency and not letting the Bulls dictate pace. |

That's a great read. Thanks for sharing. I've had the same conversation all season long. I'm siding towards the optimistic view, but still see us as very flawed. It's sad that we need to get rid of Whitman, 'cause he's put in his time, but I don't see us making the next step with him as coach. |

Re: NBA Season 2013-2014
The starting backcourt shooting less than 30% and the Wiz still win convincingly. Dre Miller with clutch minutes to turn the game around. Nene and Gortat were outstanding down low.

Gortat and Nene were certainly the difference in the game. What do you do in the offseason? Gortat or Ariza? I think I go Gortat and look at a 3 year extention 9 mil per. Ariza is solid this year, but this is his best year in like 4-5 years and it was a contract year...that makes me extremely suspect, especially in basketball. |

Ariza's been a beast this season with his defense and ridiculous 3 point percentage, but Gortat is been arguably the most important player next to Wall this year. You can't rely on Nene's health each season, so it's pretty important to lock the Polish Hammer up. He may command more than 9 per, but we'll see. |
