The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Post Browns Thread
The good...cousins 27 pass attempts and Matt jones 22 carries...that's what we need. I thought the second half was just great...that's redskins football. The defense was scrappy and pounded the rock won us this game. Josh Norman is having a great, all pro season for us. Hey Jordan Reed your cool too. Trent Murphy is playing great. Kickers are freakin beast.
The bad...did anybody else get injured leaving the field? The injuries are mounting...wtf. The ugly...my effing hangover and the tackling. I saw Cravens and bruton missed a couple. Bruton shouldn't be on the field...more duke nachos and craven. And the flag for bow shooting is garbage...I don't understand how that is a flag. Weak by the league .500 and a nice win in every facet of the game. |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
Overall it was sloppy but it's a win. Nobody cares about the stats if u win. Kirk was sharp most of the game. His InT was bad but it happens. Jones gets game ball with Norman for both showing fight.
Bad= run defense just horrible. Ugly = the refs. Holy hell what a shit show they were today Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Nice to see Jones and the run game come alive. Really needed that.

I'd love to see it continue. Play CT some more too he's got good quickness. Next week won't be any easier |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
You know cousins int wasnt too terrible of a throw and his two throws to Jordan for tds were really damn good. I think cousins performance today showed a lot of good signals where he has shaken off the poor start to the season.
I thought the Oline was fairly dominate today. |

Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
I should be happier with this win than I am. The Browns just ran through our D like a hot knife through butter. We need to get a couple new D-Linemen in here who have big bee-hinds and can't be moved so easily. Seriously.

Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
I was happy with Kirk today.
I think in the end, Kirk is a guy who is going to throw interceptions. Sometimes he's gonna throw them in bunches. I liken him to Eli Manning, or Brett Favre. They both threw a lot of touchdowns, too. If he throws one pick a game, which is realistic, he will finish the year with 16-20 INTs, which is what my prediction for him was in preseason, but I also said he would throw 30 - 35 TDs, which i also feel is realistic. Defense has to get better. We can't win every game by dogfight, and hoping to be able to come back in the 4th quarter and then run the clock out. Every time our opponents are going to put 20, 25 points on us, and thats just the way it is as long as we have joe barry. It also isn't fair to ask the offense to game in and game out score 30 plus points just to have a shot at winning |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
I think the only things I wasn't happy with was the injuries, the run defense, and the tackling in general...never seen so many missed tackles.
Everything else was a positive, especially the final score. |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
Great - forcing turnovers
Good - Matt Jones Bad - Cousins taking those 2 sacks and throwing pick Awful - run defense, tackling, referees After starting 0-2, 2-2 is the best you can be after 4 games, so I'll gladly take it. Chance to get over .500 next weekend. |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
I'm not worried about Kirk he's fine. We need pot roast back tho asap

Indeed. Arie came in and performed. He got dinged for a hold but he is stout and played much better today than he showed all pre-season. Our Offensive Line performed today. |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
Jordan Reed in the red zone, clutch. Run defense still frustrating, the tackling is embarrassing. But forcing fumbles, credit deserved. And Norman on the pick, that was a great play. Few corners can make that, and it was clutch.
Hope Kerrigan is ok. Kind of hope we stick with this offensive line. |

I will say this: as much as I appreciate the grit in grinding out the win, I would really like to see more of a killer instinct when we have a lead (or from the get go). We should have crushed that team. They have 1 good WR (not elite) and a good RB (not elite), a rookie QB, and a porous defense. I think they have a good coach and come looking for a brawl every week. But we ought to have won without it being so close. We cannot seem to go for the throat. Makes me crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
Good:
Oline Jones and CT Josh Norman 2nd half Hopkins Way Reed Bad: Run D Tackling was close to the worst I have ever seen. That complete bullshit bow and arrow penalty. Lol. |

Like first round, second round, third round. I dont care if God himself is there when we pick (unless he is playing Nose Tackle, or ILB. ) |

Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
I was at Texans game and did not get to see any of the game .I have seen three highlights, the two touchdowns to reed and the interception cousins threw which was ugly. I thought this game would be close and when I saw it was 20 to 20 I thought it would come down to a field goal, glad it did not come down to that .
I think you can throw all hope of the playoffs out the window, this defense is just too bad along with the injuries that are mounting up. The offense was going to have to outscore everybody every game and I just don't think cousins( along with our shitty coaching) is up to that task. But thankful for the win makes for a good work week |

Now that the offense seems to be clicking, I think absolute ceiling is 9 and 7 again with this defense. You are right there is no way we can just keep outscoring everyone, especially with this coach and this playcaling |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
Great to finally have a running game, and be 2-2. We need to keep giving Jones the ball, even if it's not working. We need the balance. Kirk was Kirk. Up and down. I just think this is who we are going to have with him. Like a lot of QB's he's going to be hot and cold.
The bad is the run defense. Awful. I can't even get on Barry today. Looked like he was finally dialing up some pressure. Guys were in position and missed easy tackles. Just don't have enough horses on the front 7. |

Ha thanks But I think there are people on here that still think we could make the playoffs even if we would have lost to Cleveland :saywhat: |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
2 weeks ago, we were all talking about how Kirk can't work off schedule. He never held the ball long enough to make unscripted plays. He even commented in his pressure how taking a sack sometimes would be better then forcing a ball into coverage aka Dallas game.
Now..He's using his feet, making things happen with his feet and will take a few more sacks in the process. Yet, now people complain he's not getting rid of the ball. He's getting their folks. He was able to deliver on a few unscripted plays today in just a few weeks of focusing on it to counter defenses. |

Scots long term goal seems to not wanting tof spend cash for guys who are gonna be on the field 30% of the time. |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
I'll focus on the negatives:
Shitty tackling (lack of) Lack of a run D up the middle (pathetic) Josh Norman 1st half Cousins holding onto the ball again resulting in a sack and not taking advantage of the turnover. Where was Djax? Brutton Getting tired of Barry not adjusting (if we would have lost, I would have fired his ass and promote Fewell or Manusky as DC) |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
Pot roast didn't do shit last year and remains unemployed cause he's a slow out of shape, fat fuck.

I looked at this one close and Reiter was not great st all. The rest of the Browns line is pretty good but Reiter got worked.

I think 6-7 seconds had ticked off? He was running out of bounds for a loss anyway. You have to have to throw the ball away there. Not sure what other complaints there were about holding the ball. Kirk was much better today keeping plays alive though. It was so refreshing to see. He is trending up. Got no complaints currently with KC. |

Part of the shitty tackling is caused by them trying to strip the ball. |

But I think there are people on here that still think we could make the playoffs even if we would have lost to Cleveland :saywhat:[/QUOTE] A loss to Cleveland would have been pretty much lights out. Do not care what week it is. However, at 2-2 it is tough to think we haven't got a chance. Our defense certainly is going to make it extremely tough on us no doubt. We are not the worst "team" though. Carolina, Arizona - I would have said those games were sure losses. Now not so much. Certainly Detroit, Baltimore are winnable. Dallas, Giants. Winnable. 8-4 for this team down the stretch might be asking alot, but it certainly is doable. Teams catch fire, injuries happen around the league, etc. |

F the Giants. We already beat them once and we can do it again. Eli will choke enough for them to fail to win the division. |
Re: Redskins 31 Browns 20 post game talk
No 1 thing we can do to improve our run defense is tackle. cleaning up missed tackles needs to be address immediately. Also I'd bench bruton and play duke at ss.
