Free Agent Targets
I know it’s early, but I’m throwing names out there
Who do you want? Who should we pass on… CB D.J. Reed - lockdown and underrated. Was a target at the trade deadline, history with our front office. He has expressed interest in coming here. I’d like the idea of Reed, Lattimore and Mikey as our secondary. LB Dre Greenlaw - still working his way back from injury and a history with our front office. Gives us a LB with coverage skill and another “move around” piece on defense. Could be cheap option on a prove it deal. As much as I like Tee Higgins, I’d pass on 30 mill a year for him. Take that money towards the best Tackle in free agency and move Coleman to RT or LG. I’d look towards the draft for WR or let the money settle in Free agency to see if Diggs/Keenan Allen/Goodwin. I’d resign D Brown too |

Here's a list to refer to
I'd pass on Higgins, love the player, hate the money he's going to get with the injury risk, the last 2 years he's missed a lot of games. Plus JD has shown he's the kind of QB that can elevate average players to good, good to great, etc. I like Turpin as a Swiss army knife type of player we could line up all over, plus he's an outstanding return man. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Continue to bolster the O&D lines. Would love to have Garrett. Bring Scherff back.
|
Re: Free Agent Targets
Rams are putting Cooper Cupp on the market. He may be an option. We need to see if we can trade Allen.
|
Re: Free Agent Targets
Cooper is washed. Walking injury. Passing on him. Sign me some OL/DL/CB's and draft everything else.
|

Yeah his availability on the field is the problem. He missed too much time and Puca took his place in the scheme and put up the same numbers |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Kupp would be cheaper than Higgins, but the trade price is probably not worth it. Plus, for me, he's not a complement to Scary like Higgins would be. I'd say CB, Edge, WR and RB as priority in the draft, and look at OL pickups in FA. There are a few starters should be available. IDL depends on whether we lose Allen and/or Payne. If we lose both, then there aren't many great FA's coming up, so add IDL to the draft list. And that probably means looking at CB in FA too. Honestly I'd consider retaining Allen and Payne, or trade one of them, to boost our draft options. I agree with looking at DJ Reed, and what about Byron Murphy?

Re: Free Agent Targets
Here's my guess who we will target (excluding resigning our own players): Turpin (WR/KR), Joe Noteboom (T), Aaron Banks (G), DeMarcus Lawrence (DE), Chauncey Golston (DE), DJ Reed (CB) & Talanoa Hufanga (S) if we don't resign Chinn. I think the dark horse will be Amari Cooper.

Re: Free Agent Targets
Deebo Samuel wants a trade. SF willing to oblige:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43764535/49ers-grant-wr-deebo-samuel-sr-permission-find-trade Count me in the camp that wants to bolster the lines. Huge reason why Eagles are in SB again. Both lines stacked. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
I would avoid trades for WR unless it’s Jamar Chase or Jefferson
|
Re: Free Agent Targets
I heard some Cowboys targets…I like Turpin too echo folks above.
But watch Osa Odighizuwa, Dallas Cowboys DT if we decide to move on from Allen. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Oline. Dline. With a dash of secondary.
|
Re: Free Agent Targets
one piece for the secondary, and garret plus lb depth. lose allen or payne.
we need to stop the run and pressure the qb more. we need a threat. some middle to cover the slot and te.....and some people over the top to ensure that not every 3rd and 17 is a first. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
We don't have a lot of draft capital, just seven picks (1,2,3,5,7,7,7), and three of those are 7th rounders...
We need to do a lot in free agency this year. We should be all in, considering we were a game away from the SB. These would be my FA targets: WR: KaVontae Turpin/Chris Godwin TE: Mike Gesicki G: Kevin Zeitler/Mekhi Becton RT: Kendall Lamm Edge: Josh Sweat DT: BJ Hill LB: Bobby Wagner - resign him CB: Mike Hilton S: Justin Reid K: Brandon McManus P: Tress Way - resign him BPA is the way to go in the draft. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Like to see Sweat do a Saquon and stick it to the Iggles. Love Garrett to come here, but price will be too high, so if we could get Sweat...
Like the rest of that list, though I suspect they re-sign Ertz instead. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Legal tampering period starts in 1 month from today. This will be the most exciting free agency in Washington football history.

More exciting than signing Albert H? /s

Khalil Mack or Miles Garrett ?

Re: Free Agent Targets
Garret>mack long shot on skills left.. cost is another story. One thing i think they do is keep fowler. There won't be a huge market for him unless there's cornball price driving by competition. He outperformed this year, he'll play as good or better of we keep him BUT/AND... get a stud to rotate him with.
Absolutely keep:, Wagner, Dyami, Chinn(right price). DL? ... cant really tell. That's up to the ppl in the building that know if allen has it left in the tank... if we could get a 2nd for him I think I might take it but... also I wanna see him succeed and win here. Coleman should move to G only if you jave a good replacement. Draft OL but I heard the class isn't that strong? ... so... we got a lot to build on i didnt even toucb corner, we need one. How do I feel about deebo? Well... what's the price tag? ... a 4th and 7th? Sure. But other teams will offer more so I will do a 3rd next year. 5th next year. That is all. He would be a good weapon to add for kliff for real. Bring siebert back. B Rob will be fine. Add a speedster. As far as targets? ...... I trust them to make moves to fill the gaps but these are the positions I have words on. Cant wait til march. Fuck the eagles. |

He is still a good pash rusher, at least as good as Fowler, but as a run defender he is 100 times better than Fowler!! we need someone that can set an edge! |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Call me interested if Deebo Samuel is cut.
|
Re: Free Agent Targets
ugh, pass on sassy Deebo. Is it me or does it seem like we are being linked to every potential trade/free agent out there.. I'm starting to question if this is truly due to us being an attractive destination now that we are winning, or is it because we are still associated with being offseason champions in the Snyder era where players came here to get paid

MG is 4 years younger so it’s really not a discussion |
Re: Free Agent Targets
generally rather not spend time on players that never seem to be happy. MG is great, but you'd need 2x #1s plus a player minimum, and then you'd need to give him tj watt money, and he'd just be a 3 year rental.
I'd also rather go for more value in FA signings (like godwin over higgins, and someone like carlton davis over dj reed... lots of high priced dbs this offseason that played like total garbage last year). I don't really think we "need" a WR, but it'd be nice to have while we wait for nabers to hit FA. OT+OG or OT+OT (depending where you slot coleman), CB, DE are going to make the biggest difference (before WR or RB or TE). That's also assuming we resign a bunch of guys (wagner, ertz, tress, etc). |

Re: Free Agent Targets
If Devante Adams is released, should we try sign him? I'm on the fence with Adams - he is talented and would help us a lot, but is he worth the headache and does he fit in the team culture? I'm not so sure.

I wouldn’t. It would be expensive and we want someone that is going to help us take advantage of the window with JD5 on his rookie contract for the next few years, and I wouldn’t bet that Adams’s has several good years in the tank. Plus there has been some drama attached to the guy and that’s something our leadership clearly wants to avoid. I’d rather we spend for guys in the trenches. What Philly’s D just did should be a lesson to all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Cupp is living off one great season Only 2 x 1000 yard seasons in 8 years. He isn’t worth much. |

AP proved himself last offseason. DQ proved himself last season. We are now a few playmakers away from Superbowl contenders and a very attractive place for free agents. Nothing has to do with Snyder anymore. Thank God. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
I see AP being crafty again this year, beefing up the roster everywhere possible with FAs and picks whose names we aren’t thinking of right now. We can’t afford to deal many players or picks until we have more depth. Then strike in year 3 for a game changer, either D line or JD weapon.

These would be my FA targets: G: Kevin Zeitler/Mekhi Becton RT: Kendall Lamm BPA is the way to go in the draft.
Zeitler will be turning 35 and probably would prefer to stay in Detroit, all else being equal. Becton would be better for a multi-year deal and can play T or G. I think he would be a great pick up for the team to start at G and play T in a pinch. Kendall Lamm has bounced around a bit and only garnered short term contracts. I think he had a back issue to deal with. We do need an upgrade at RT but I'm not sure Lamm is it. I'd like to see an OL drafted for development. There isn't the top end super talented LT available in this draft but supposedly some with positive traits. BPA on the draft. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Salary cap going up to 277.5 to 281.5. That’s up from 255.4 this year.

I'm aware, I meant a 20-30mill$ a year guy. I'm also assuming we resign 2 of the current FA WRs from last year. |

I don't think it makes sense to get one of those 20-30 million free agents either. Peters is going to have to extend Terry in another year and it will be important to keep the WR dollars under control. We can get a mid-tier free agent WR who might be an upgrade from the previous supporting cast. I expect the team to resign more than 2 of their WR free agents to allow for competition (the extras will be cut in preseason). I'd like to believe that Dyami Brown's post season production wasn't a fluke, but who knows. If he signs elsewhere, the team will need another WR with some speed. I'd like to keep Noah Brown at a reasonable price. I have my fingers crossed that McCaffery will be more productive in 2025 - he's a good KR but that's not enough considering his draft position. |

Tried to pick this apart and can't; totally agree. Right now I'd bring both Brown's and Zaccheaus back if possible and draft someone if the right guy is BPA when we pick in later rounds; let the 5 fight over 4 slots. WR can't be a priority for FA or draft, when we need beef on the lines and another top CB. Then there's the likely need at RB too. |
