All this drama over an intern.

What a joke.

Re: New Redskin Coach Jennifer King

A little more on her background, again, perfectly qualified to be an intern
King was most recently an offensive assistant with Dartmouth College. She primarily worked with the wide receivers and created defensive scouting reports and secondary specific scouting reports for the wide receivers. Dartmouth finished the 2019 season 9-1 and captured the Ivy League Championship. The team averaged 33.3 points per game and averaged 382.4 yards per game.

King interned for the Carolina Panthers during the offseason in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, she was an intern wide receivers coach and assisted Lance Taylor with on-field development drills and in position meetings. She assisted with the creation of scouting scheme cards for the opposing defense and charted practice and in-game player participation and defensive schemes. In 2019, she returned to the Panthers in the role of intern running backs coach and worked with the running backs in organized team activities, mandatory mini camp and training camp. She worked one-on-one with rookies on playbook proficiencies and individual skill development along with analyzing drill efficiency and drill concepts. She worked extensively with Pro Bowl running back Christian McCaffrey.

In between her two internships with the Panthers, King was an assistant wide receiver coach and special teams assistant for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football. The Hotshots were 5-3 and tied for first place in the AAF Western Conference before the league disbanded. At the time of the league being dissolved, the Hotshots ranked No. 2 in yards per game (343.9) and points per game (23.2).

King has participated in NFL coaching clinics from 2015-18 and also took part in the NFL Women's Career in Football Forum in January of 2018. The forum was a highly selective two-day event which connected qualified female candidates for positions in football as coaches, officials, scouts and athletic trainers.

King also has experience as a player. She was a seven-time All American quarterback and wide receiver for the Carolina Phoenix women's tackle football team from 2006-17. In 2018 she played wide receiver and defensive back for the New York Sharks women's tackle football team and captured the 2018 WFA National Championship. Most recently, King played wide receiver and safety in the District for the D.C. Divas women's tackle football team in 2019.

King also has experience coaching women's basketball. She was the Head Coach of Johnson & Wales University Charlotte from 2016-18. During King's tenure the team had an 37-10 record and they captured the USCAA Division II National Championship in 2018. She was named the USCAA Division II National Coach of the Year in 2018. King also was an assistant coach on the Greensboro College women's basketball staff from 2006-16. During King's 10 years with the team, they went 136-54, won five conference titles and appeared in the NCAA tournament five times.

King holds a masters of science in sports administration from Liberty University and holds a bachelor of science in sports management from Guilford College. She was a member of the Guilford College women's basketball and softball team's from 2002-06.
It turns out we aren't even talking about an assistant coach position, but a full time intern. I think you need to re-evaluate the bar you are setting. She will be working with the RB coach, who is eminently qualified. Not sure how you can still be against the hire. Just doesn't make sense.

Letís face it folks. We live in a day and time where people like httr198020 and SunnySide like to be pot stirrers just because they can. Because social media gives them the platform to do so, and most likely because they donít have a positive influence in any other aspect of their life, this is how they deal with it.

Iíve always said this to my staff when faced with pot stirrers and other abhorrently disrespectful people, ďyou canít rationalize with irrational peopleĒ. Itís a shame that as a collective culture people canít be happy and supportive for the successes of others, instead of being narrow minded jackwagons. I think the thing to take away from this as I continue to read this absurdity, is to just ignore this type of behavior and continue to discuss the positive about the situation.

Well played, Matty - notably, he kind of admitted to both. Sadly, I recall other asinine drivel from this guy. Seems a theme.

HTTR198020 has to be a Russian bot. Thatís how nonsensical this is.

Of all the things to get up in arms about, an intern. Honestly thatís what pushes your buttons? Somethingís not right with this dude.

An assistant to an assistant coach, a position she previously held in Carolina, yet sheís not qualified? Yeah makes zero sense. The only thing left to conclude is sexism and maybe even racism.

I canít believe I just read someone dis or want to get rid of Rivera over the hire of an intern or assistant to the assistant.

She either does well and grows to become an asset or she will be fired. Then some troll will then say they like Rivera again.

We just went through 20 years of terrible GM decisions by nimrod lackeyís of Dan Snyders. Cerrato and Bruce Allen had minimal football knowledge, common sense nor could they lead or inspire others on the team. They were not respected or trusted by agents or players. They made HUGE decisions for the franchise, mostly that were dead wrong, illogical, with little strategic planning. Bruce Allen was happy with a 7-9 season because we were ďalmost thereĒ.

FINALLY, they are gone. Dan Snyder is out of the micro-management of the team. We have a HC who has been coach-of-the-year twice. We have a DC who has put together elite defenses. Our OC is ready to run a modern passing and imaginative offense. We may get the best player in the draft.

And ppl are worried about the hiring of an intern to an assistant? Really? Get a grip!
Embrace the new regime and our bright future. If she gets promoted ABOVE the intern level to something of real importance on teamís staff, then we can have a logical discussion. Iím done with this ridiculous topic! Iíd rather talk about taking Andrew Thomas or Isaiah Simmons if we trade Chase Young.

I hope everyone knows I was joking in a cheeky manner on this thread. When I saw tranny and sexist stuff being floated out on page 1 ... I figured no one would get mad if I derailed things.
