Play Calling is the Key
 

Gibbs should take over play calling or at least call whether it's a run or a pass. In the games that the skins have had the lead, they have not been able to put teams away. I think it's because they have not been running the ball early in games. Gibbs runs a ball control offense and I don't think that what Saunders is doing. Gibbs offense finished ranked in the top 15 last year, which shows that he knows what he is doing. Joe needs to call the plays for the rest of the season. I would bet that they will win most of the remaining games. This would also help the defense stay off the field so that they don't get exposed.

either let the 2mill$ man run the offense like you asked him to, or take total control. calling run or pass and let having saunders make the call off that seems insane. They miss the QB coach they let go. going back to last year involves shotgun, audibles, and more two TE sets.

Cambell won't have any more success than Brunell. There will be more runs called and a simple offensive game plan. You could the same thing with Brunell in the game

I believe that our offense with Saunders calling plays will eventually be very good. Plus, it would be better for Jason Campbell's development to have the same play caller (read Offensive Coordinator) for more than one season. Bringing in Saunders is the one off-season decision that I still believe in.

This was posted 10-29-06. I think that Gibbs was reading this thread and made the change. He is a HOFamer and he knows genius when he reads it.
