What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
Not the most positive of threads, but how would you prepare if you were the saints this weekend? Maybe the answer to this question would help us focus in on our most glaring needs. I personally would run left and throw to the tightend every play until we stopped it........

Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
Pressure Campbell as much as possible on D and throw the ball deep on offense. I would basically let Betts run as much as he wants as long as the D was holding the Skins to field goals. At the same time I would figure that I just need to score about 21+ points to win it.

If I'm Sean Payton I've got Drew Brees doing weight training on his throwing arm. It's entirely possible it might fall off from attempting 240+ passes. |

Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
Our defensive point totals this year
19 That averages out to 22.7 points per game, we only scored over 22 27 points in 2 games, OUCH 15 30 19 25 36 19 27 20 13 24 21 |
Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
If I were the Saints I'd just keep doing what I'm doing. Attack down the field, pound between the tackles with Deuce, and swing it to Bush. They've got too many weapons, I have a feeling we're going to get overwhelmed. :(

Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
last years points against
7 That averages out to 18.3 points per game against, we would have won 13 6 games this year if we kept teams to that total every game 17 (Hypothetically) Still not very good, damn. But sitll a huge difference in 21 points per game against. 28 17 36 10 36 16 23 9 13 7 20 20 |
Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
I just don't want Bush scoring against us. There's something that eats at me when rookies score on us.

Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
pound it on the ground offensively...the skins just can't stop the run this year.
On defense blitz Campbell...the skins o-line is awful at blitz recognition and any young QB will f up if the blitz is getting to him. |
Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
ST is going to welcome Bush to the NFL this weekend and we are going to hold Bress to under 200 yards passing. Daniels is going to have a big day and Carter is going to have 2 sacks. JC will have his best game finding Moss twice for 14 points and Betts will have a rushing TD. We will score a TD from either special teams or our D will score. Theres no game planning that!

Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
throw at rogers whenever it's 1on1 since it will either be a big completion or a dropped interception. on defense it seems that blitzing is the charm

Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
Throw, throw and throw some more! Deep passes especially. After the saints score 50, then run the ball to allow the Skins to gain some respect. haha

Re: What Would Your Gameplan Be Against the Skins?
I think they are gonna have a very similar game plan as the Dallas game. Pressure Campbell from the ends so he can't slide in the pocket or roll out (which will be even easier if Jansen can't play), probably put 8 men in the box under the assumption Betts will get in the neighborhood of 30 carries, and just do what they do on offense. You really think Andre Carter, AKA highway 99, is gonna catch Bush on a sweep? We are on the verge of setting records for futility on defense in terms of turnovers/sacks/big plays allowed. They are the #1 offense in the league, averaging nearly 500 yards a game over their last 5. To me, unfortunately, that adds up to an ass-whipping in our own house. I gotta agree with MattyK: we are going to get overwhelmed. Can you imagine Carlos Rodgers trying to cover their deep threats? Or Warrick friggin Holdman trying to tackle Reggie Bush in the open field? Yikes. It's gonna be ugly. Gregg Williams needs to be under much more scrutiny than he presently is....
