Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
Lito Sheppard's injury means that Walt Harris is now a pro bowler. This just endorses another great FO decision from the skins. 6 interceptions in the season and NFC defensive player of the month in November. Still, our corners all had great years so we didn't need that kind of production...

Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
Congrats to Walt. This goes to show players can bounce back from having a bad year.

Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
Walt harris was a complete stiff here. I'd be very happy to provide hotlinks to every post demandinng he be re-signed by the front office:
... Now that I'm done with that, maybe we should all look closely at a Pro Bowl system that allows a nickel CB (not a starter) to make the Pro Bowl, when his own coaches have made the determination he isn't one of the top two CBs on his own team, much less in the league. |
Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
i wasnt one of the many that wanted to run harris out of here. he played decent last season, but was the whipping boy for many. by a show of hands, how many wish here still played for the skins?

Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
I guess the crystal ball at Redskins Park needs shining up, because who really saw this coming??

Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
My only question is, how could the guy be a bust one year, and Pro Bowl material the next? That is what bugs me more than anything else.

Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
Brud you forgot all the links from people who were upset when he signed with the niners. here are those.
... and the ones where people predicted he'd have a great year ... Harris was a body for us. We replaced him with basically the same player in Wright. They are nearly identical. Had Harris been here he'd be on the chopping block as much as anyone else who played marginally for us this past year. |

I don't remember anyone...anyone who was upset w/ Harris leaving. This is hindsight right now. |

It's hard to see Mike Nolan and Turner have a little success with that crappy team :( |
Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
Ok, he had 6 ints. but how many big plays did he give up? I think the number of ints. stand out and could cover up the bad. I did not watch him play so I really don't know.

How? Opportunity, that's how. He got the opportunity to prove his worth and he stepped up. There are too many showoffs on the Skins, so the average guys don't bother... |

Dude, don't just down play six ints. That's a damn good year any way you slice it. Corners give up a fair amount of big plays, that's just the nature of the beast. |
Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
I'm happy for Harris. And, as has been pointed out, who saw this one coming? Maybe we should re-sign Kenny Wright to a $50 million deal (j/k).

Re: Walt Harris to the Pro Bowl
Good for Harris. But also keep in mind he had 3 interceptions in one game....against Oakland
If you compared the 2005 seasons of Wright and Harris, and considered their age and contracts the rationale choice would have been to sign Wright for 2006. Unfortunately, rationality doesn't always work |
