Three Greatest Super Bowls (Non-Skins)

What are the three greatest super bowls you've seen in your lifetime (meaning not those that you saw highlights of on ESPN Classic)

Redskins' Super Bowls don't count.

Here's my list:

1. Rams over Titans SB XXXIV-what a heartbreaker for the Titans
2. Niners over Bengals SB XXIII-the legendary "John Candy" drive
3. Pats over Rams SB XXXVI-edges out Pats over Panthers and Broncos over Packers

What's your list?

Giant's Bill's, Cowboy's Steelers 2, Patriot's Ram's.

well im 27 and i dont remember most before 1986, so my list is

bills vs giants -- wide right
bears vs patriots --- because of the super bowl shuffle :)
falcons vs denver --- nfl man of the year, eugene robinson asking an undercover female police officer for a blowjob.

I can't argue with your list, same thing I would have posted.

taking age into consideration...

3) Pats over Rams in XXXVI - I was the only one of the group I watched the game with that thought the Pats were going to win...won about 300 bucks that night off those guys...

2) 49ers over Chargers in XXIX - Couldn't help but root for Stan Humphries...won more money because i got closest to the final score out of the group i watched the game with...but watching Steve Young totally dominate the Chargers was a work of art.

1) Giants over Bills in XXV - just a flat out great game, down to the wire nailbiter. no money involved, just heartbreak watching those bastards win

In no particular order.
Giants - Bills
Rams - Titans
Those are the two that stick in my mind as great games. Maybe the Patriots - Rams as a distant 3rd.

My definite favorite (besides the 'Skins victories) would have to be New England over St. Louis. The Rams were heavily favored, and it was funny how at the beginning they introduced their starting offense while the Pats brought out the whole team. It was definitely a hard-hitting game and it came down to the final seconds. I found it funny that the MVP (Brady) had only 145 yards passing. That game was the epitomy of a team victory if I ever saw one; how appropriate for the "Patriots" (the classic underdog) to win after 9/11 :) .

If we can't pick Skins SBs

If it ain't the Skins, it's easy.

V - Baltimore 16, Dallas 13

X - Pittsburgh 21, Dallas 17

XIII - Pittsburgh 35, Dallas 31

Hmmm. What do these games have in common? hee hee.

CrazyCanuck 02-03-2005 03:37 PM

1. Pats over Rams

2. Steelers over Cowboys (35-31 game)

3. Rams over Titans

Don't forget Broncos over Packers in 1997

I can't believe no one is mentioning last year's thriller, which concluded with consecutive field long drives authored by qb's at the top of their game, and saw Vinatieri enter the annals of nfl history as perhaps the greatest clutch kicker of all time. The only thing that kind of blew it for me was when john kasey booted the kickoff out of bounds allowing NE to come back. Still an incredible game though.

I agree. I would have loved to see Carolina pull it out. THAT would have been a story.
