Since he barely played, there could be a not likely to be earned bonus if he makes 3 tackles in a game, or two games with a pass defensed. So I am sure he feels confident he will earn them. Not to bother Lotus, but his being here is probably a kudos to Eric Schaffer's ability to write contracts as it is SM's talent evaluation.
