Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread
It's pretty much the same story we've had for the past 20 years or so after a decent season. Expectations are high even though questions always remain on the talent of our team. This year is no different. Kirk Cousins is a good quarterback, but he has to be a quarterback who can play good for 16 games. Can't be a guy who takes 7 or 8 games each season before it starts to click with him. We, as fans, deserve better than that! Don't we? I like Kirk Cousins. I liked RGIII. But neither were/are franchise quarterbacks. I realize the sentiment is, "We just want to be consistently good!" Well, fuck that! I want a Super Bowl champion. I want a team other teams fear. I want a team that other fans get tired of watching, because we win all the time. You guys need to be fuckin' tired of being losers all the time. It hurts. Especially when your most hated rival beats you in your own stadium. I realize the cooler heads will post tomorrow and say all the right things, "14 more games left, it's a long season folks, anything can happen." It doesn't take a psychic to see this team is going to be a losing team this season. For fuck's sake, look at our schedule. Look at how easy the Cowboys were able to run on this team today. Look at how a rookie quarterback looked against our team today. Look at the crucial INT in the endzone Cousins had. Look at how unbalanced our offense is. The boneheaded mistake our center made that cost us a decent chance at winning the game.
Folks, we as fans deserve more than this. We have one life to live, and we've chosen to be Redskins fans. Our time on this earth is precious. Some of us might not have another 20 years to wait until this club gets its shit together. Do you want to spend it waiting for another NFC East championship? Because right now, that is the very best you are going to get. I believe in Scot McCloughan, but he's got to have total control if this team has any shot at turning itself around. There cannot be any regression. There cannot be any $75m cornerback playing only one side of the ball all the time. There can't be a quarterback under throwing and over throwing wide open receivers all the time. Can't be coaches not knowing how to call a balanced game and run the damn football. We've forgotten how it felt to have a winning team. Some of us here never have felt that before.
Anyway, we don't need to blow the team up. Scot has added some qualithy players and depth in positions. We just need someone who knows how to lead the team. We need, for once, to have all the missing pieces in place. It's not this year folks.
