Could someone please explain how this makes sense? I would think people are going to consume the same amount of food daily whether they are eating out at a restaurant or at home.

I know people probably will consume a higher food volume per meal on average eating out than they would at home, but most people I know make up for it by skipping the next meal or just eating a snack.
I didn't get the article's logic either. I think delivery has probably picked up as well as carryout. And most things I have seen worry more about people overeating during quarantine then stocking shelves with food that won't be eaten.
