A "5 year window" is short term thinking in todays "win now" NFL?

I want to take advantage of this top 10 D and a weak NFCE. We have been saving cap space and investing 1st rounders on the DL for 4 plus years now ... how much more saving up and planning are we planning to do before we actually start executing the plan? Are we going to stay in the party planning committee stage for ever? or are we going to party?

Lets not over think this. We have a top 10 D with all the pieces young and under contract. We have McLaurin. We are a QB1, WR2, and LT away from being relevant again.

We have a ton of cap space.

The time is now. The next 3-5 years in the NFCE could be ours.

Weve been saving up for this moment. Things have gone our way in terms of drafts and FA pick ups. lets take advantage.

i dont want to stay medium and watch what we are currently holding slowly slip through our cupped hands. How much more cap space are we going to continue to not use? Are we just going to roll over 10-15 M in cap space every year until eternity?
Exactly! NO, they are not close to the Bucs, Saints, or Rams defense. They are not comparable to Houston or Detroit either - probably somewhere in the middle. But they are also just a couple key injuries away from not being relevant at all.

Look, this team won a terrible division. Five of their seven wins came against backup QBs. Most opponents from outside the division, who had their starting QB, ran up 30+ points on this team. The schedule is much tougher next year. There are just too many holes to fill on both sides of the ball to say this team is close - on either side of the ball.

Not sorry. I'm not all in for just the next 3-5 years. I'm all in for the the next 5 years and the future beyond that, which means keep / resign your studs, fill some holes in free agency, and continue to build the team through the draft. If you can do that AND get Stafford/Watson - then by all means do that. But if you can't, then it's not a smart idea.
