I doubt it. They will look at this as a time of madness. American will be China's bitch a half century or more from now, ruined by its debt, and its total abandonment of the merit system and honest free market competition. This will be looked at as part of the rapid decline in the post-golden-age of American empire.
What is especially noteworthy is your comment "teams being named after groups of people." If there is no disparagement, what is wrong with it? Will the Vikings have to change their name? Will Somali pirates bring suit against Tampa Bay? Comparing this to segregation is ridiculous and an example of the stupidity that is destroying this country.
The attempt to control everything spoken and said in the name of warped leftist ideologies will not be viewed favorably by any freedom loving civilization. Freedom is most of all allowing that free speech which you despise most.
We could debate whether Redskins a slur, Eskimos is certainly not. It is a politically correct name meant to honor a people whose toughness and heritage is admired. What will be wondered by futurity is why we let totalitarian SJW utopians derail an entire civilization, THAT is what futurity will wonder in terms of what happened. How did a nation as prosperous and powerful collapse and become mediocre so rapidly?
How long until the animal rights activists demand all animal names be abandoned?
