The speculation is that Petrino - who was offensive coordinator during Brunell's years in Jacksonville - would want someone who can pick up his system in a hurry. He also isn't necessarily looking for a longterm answer, since Brian Brohm will be coming out next year.

2. Collins has some nice numbers, but (and I will probably say this one hundred times in the next three weeks) his arm is absurdly weak. If he were in a situation where he had to get the ball downfield, he will either humiliate himself in front of millions of people or eat the ball, probably the latter. He is still the same check down artist we grew to hate last pre-season. I suspect that Brunell will wind up with the number 2 job. Not that it's any skin off my nose. I don't have a dog in this fight. (whoops)

If your allegation is that somone can throw
more checkdowns than Brunell, I call shenanigans.
Again, I hope that, barring a beneficial trade, Mark Brunell wears #8 all year for us. I also hope he never has to launder his jersey.
