Thats a classy move by the front office. If they know that he wont make our team and they arent moved by his performance, let him og early and hope he gets picked up by another team.
This also means that the team feels confident about the depth at the LB spot. Thats a good sign if u ask me.

Interesting theory. In any event, the move is perplexing but it will take a year or two to judge the move with any certainty. It could turn out to be a mistake if a starter is injured and our depth proves insufficient. It could also turn out to be a good move if it gives guys like Blades or Sartz more playing time in the preseason and with the second team in practice and one or both of them turns out to be decent.
