I noticed that a thread hadn't been devoted to the Post article titled,
Free Agents Won't Be A Priority, Redskins Say, although a thread
has been devoted to the excerpt from the article about Lloyd.
I believe the bigger story here is the conservatism being displayed by the front office:
"Our [salary] cap situation is okay," said Cerrato, the Redskins' executive vice president of football operations. "I just think there's a limited number of guys in free agency. The price of what guys are going to be paid is astronomical. I don't foresee us being a big player."
Err....did anyone else do a double-take here?
Is the Redskins front office taken a smart approach to building through the draft?
Are the days of overspending in sellers markets gone?
Am I actually feeling optimistic about the Redskins for the first time since Gibbs left???
