The Philadelphia Eagles have announced they have signed unrestricted free-agent LB Rocky Boiman (Colts) to a one-year contract. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Updating a previous report, The Denver Broncos have announced they have officially signed unrestricted free-agent C Casey Wiegmann (Chiefs). Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but it has been reported the contract is a two-year deal.
49ers | Team found guilty of tampering with Briggs

The Associated Press reports NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has determined that the San Francisco 49ers are guilty of tampering with Chicago Bears LB Lance Briggs. Goodell determined the 49ers violated the NFL's anti-tampering policy by contacting Briggs' agent without the Bears' permission during the 2007 season. The 49ers will have to forfeit their 2008 fifth-round draft choice and must swap their 2008 third-round draft choice with the Bears.
Chiefs | Edwards unhappy with Tampa Bay and St. Louis

Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards indicated the team was aggressive as NFL rules allowed them to be in pursuing C Jeff Faine, who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and PK Josh Brown, who signed with the St. Louis Rams. NFL rules prohibit teams from contacting prospective free agents or their agents until the new league begins. "There were probably some deals done before (the start of the league year). We didn't cheat. We abided by the rules. That's how you're supposed to do it, and that's what we did," Edwards said.

Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports retired Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre has not yet filed his official retirement papers and it is unclear at this point when he will. Favre's agent, James Cook, said he had no idea where Favre was in the process of filing the paperwork. When Favre turns in his retirement papers, the team will strike $11.4 million from payroll.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak insists the signing of free-agent QB Quinn Gray (Jaguars) does not increase the likelihood of QB Sage Rosenfels being traded. "I know what people are saying, but signing Quinn has absolutely nothing to do with it," Kubiak said. "I've been a two-quarterback type of guy, but what happened to us last season scared the heck out of me, and I don't want to go through that again."
weigmann or hartwig would have been a good signing for us. TJ and CJ skip offseason workouts, but they did the same thing last year.
