My opinion of this, based on the games I reviewed and what I saw last season, it's a good move for the Skins. But who cares what I think, what do I know? Well, the guys that are getting paid 7 figures per year to win games in DC have come the the same conclusion as me and many others here....Jason Campbell is not an effective starting QB in the NFL.

McNabb isn't a long-term answer, but he does give us a viable starting QB option for at least 3 years. That gives the FO more time to find a long-term solution at QB rather than having to find a starting LT & QB in the same off-season.
Probably still a faulty conclusion, IMO. People are very split on Jason Campbell's long term prospects, which is fair. A lot of smart people don't think he's got much future value. Basically no one thinks McNabb is going to be a quality quarterback beyond age 35. That's the biggest difference.

As a one year stop gap, I'm not against McNabb here, but the compensation was way too high for a guy with a year remaining on his contract. You've got to lowball that sh-t. 5th rounder or lower. The 2nd rounder for a 33 year old former probowler near the end of a long term contract was the Vinny specialty.
