Not to put the tombstone on Shanahan before anything happens, but I think Reid has a much longer leash in the wake of this trade than anyone thinks. Neither coach has a job on the line this year. But Reid will win again in the NFL, and Shanahan's got a big rebuilding project on his hands.

And the primary area that needs to be rebuilt JUST HAPPENS to fall under his expertise: offense. I trust Shanahan because he has a consistent track record of fielding excellent offenses, not because "ZOMG HE'S MY LORD AND SAVIOR". The empirical data is there; there is no blind faith needed.
