Re: Haynesworth might learn a few things about Shanahan from Plummer

Like the majority of posters I am siding with Shanahan here, if for no other reason than to support in the broadest terms the general change in discipline and atmosphere at Redskins Park that, needed for so long, Shanahan's arrival appears to be precipitating.

BUT, for some reason there exists a tendency amongst Redskins fans to severely underrate the impact that Haynesworth had on this team last season. Yes, he appeared to get injured several times a game, he huffed and puffed and didn't always seem in optimum shape, and he certainly came off poorly when criticizing Blache's defensive scheme in the media, in particularly uncharitable terms. Nevertheless, when on the field and firing on all cylinders he was every bit the disruptive, menacing force we paid for. It's not a coincidence that Carter and Orakpo both hit double-digit sacks for the year, Carter resurrecting a career that had seemed on the wrong side of done only a season prior.

AH might not be a guy I would choose to have a beer with; and in the end, he might not be a guy the new regime feels it can work with. Fine. But what is so headscratching is the perception - perpetuated by both the media and fans - that he was a bust for us last season. Albert played like one of the best DT's in the league last year.
