The perception might be due to a large contingent of football players being in a financial mess soon after retirement. That said, lack of money skills does not necessarily mean lack of other skills that can land them jobs better than the burger joint. They certainly have the capital to pursue various business ventures. The matter is where to pursue the venture, and that is where pro football players trip due to folks who want to nab their money.
