Then on Super Bowl Sunday, my wife drew the short straw on her job and had to work. I always picked her up at work on the days she was alone and had to close. I left the house during halftime and missed most of the 3rd quarter, so even that game is somewhat hazy in my memory.
1991 was a forgettable season for me; I prefer to recall seasons when things went a little better for me and the family. I guess it does show how the Redskins become part of your life in good times and bad.
Ultimately, I had some health problems of my own in early 2004. I vividly remember a very good friend coming to visit me in the hospital and leaning over my bed and saying, "Gibbs is coming back!" I am sure that accelerated my recovery!
Good and bad, thick and thin, more thin than thick lately, but always "Hail to the Redskins!"

Great story! Im guessing your heart was in good shape cause im sure most of us almost had a heart attack hearing Gibbs was coming back. It came straight out of left field for me I had given up hope of that ever happening. I had a Cowboy fan come in my office and tell me, i called him a flat out liar. lol
