If they're in the 18 to 20 range it's usually boredom. Just finished high school, not going to college, poor neighborhood, nothing really going on, so why not pop out a few kids that you can't afford and don't have enough life experience to raise properly? Other times it's religious values that strongly encourage people to settle down and have a family. With certain people it works great other people it backfires horribly.
Either way my Mom is starting to get the itch for Grandchildren while my semi-older friends are telling me that the best time to be a single male in this day and age is around 30. I'm soooooooo conflicted.
