Tanard Jackson, unfortunately has been one of the worst-tackling safeties in the NFL for 3 years. He's missed 43 tackles in the last 3 seasons, with 114 tackles. Look at that ratio! In 2011, Tanard attempted 57 tackles and missed 24 of them!

Reed's decent as a backup. We've just had to use him as a starter though, a role he's not up for.

While looking at stats, D-Hall and Cedric Griffin are two of the better run-stop CBs in the league.

I know Tanard Jackson has some playmaking ability that Doughty lacks, but his tackling stats scare me. I'm hoping someone can really step up to be a solid backup. Whether it's Doughty, Gomes or Barnes, I don't care, but if we're relying on Tanard Jackson to save us, we're going to be cursing a lot this season. He appears to be one of the worst tacklers in the league.

I think you just made the argument not to keep Doughty around. We have two of the best CB's at doing it and the tackling machines that are Fletcher and Riley. Now we need someone to make big plays and cover.
