Bout sums it up. Despite quadrupling the value of the franchise since they bought it - I guess their finances aren't tight enough to sign homegrown talent to contract extensions. They love doing deferred money deals too which just don't fly with the big names anymore.
It sucks being in this position but I think the Corbin/Strasburg deals have really screwed us. And guessing the new owner/s want a clean slate - they don't wanna be the bad guys to let Soto walk. Good riddance to the Lerners.

this article by Bos is a good read. I ain't gonna be spending any money going to games any time soon but hopefully brighter days are ahead.
