Re: Cuts that were made tonight....

Amazing that the Redskins spent three years trying to draft sign Butler only to cut him before he even took one regular season snap.

And now does this mean Corey Bradford is going to be the #5 WR, or will it be McAddley who's currently listed 5th on the depth chart?

If it's neither, then I think the Redskins should seriously consider signing Doug Gabriel (who was just waived by the Raiders). He's big, athletic, young. I think he could make a nice addition to the team.

gabriel is very talented, but i think i read somewhere, where he has some attitude issues. lord knows if they caused problems in oakland how bad they must be

Man, that was a wild ride! I'm sure glad we brought in Pinkston!

On a bit more serious note, glad to see my fellow Salisbury Seagull made it through another cut.

I hear Pinkston really struggled to learn the offense here. They threw him a copy the playbook...and he ran away from it

Sean Taylor was walking by as they threw the book--Pinkston was worried he'd be hit.

Good riddance. Surprised about Butler as well, but it was probably injuries. Hopefully, one of the younger CBs stepped up and took the spot.

Doug Gabriel would be a nice addition here and would seriously challenge Thrash for that 4th spot.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Doesn't Gabriel have all sorts of attitude problems? Also... it's troubling that he couldn't make the Raiders...

Re: Cuts that were made tonight....

Biggest name so far is Butler. I had a feeling about him getting the axe. I don't think I heard his name called once through any of the exhibition games.

Come to think of it, there hasn't been much from Macklin either.

What kind of contract did they give Butler? It was well above the veteran minimum if I recall.

Appears that it was the vet. min.

Only the bonus is guaranteed. I'm sure he picked up some paychecks during camp but that's about it.

Re: Cuts that were made tonight....

Butler is a bit suprising to me, I thought he could play well for us. Maybe he just couldn't get the defense, or they knew he wouldn't make the final roster and they're giving him a chance to get signed elsewhere.
