Another Brandon Lloyd Thread
I noticed almost immediately after Lloyd got his first reception, the crowd responded with a supportive cheer, and so did the sidelines.
I know it was just one catch, but maybe it's the beginning of him seeing more playing time, who knows. It's just good to see the team supporting him in that way. It would be nice if he could contribute this Sunday. Maybe he should steal a page from Mike Seller's book and nag the hell out of Gibbs until he get's in the game. |

I agree. I also noticed his second effort to get more yards. Seemed interested in playing his guts out.

A few things I noticed at the game and watching it afterward:
What does all this mean? Not a great deal. I'm just practicing my typing.

Brandon will leave in the offseason, but I don't think the Redskins should be closed-minded about him. He has certain athletic qualities that make him unique and he may be of some usefullness at some point this year. Also, if injuries persist, they may not have a choice. I think that's what happened Sunday. I don't think he was going to play until Randle-El was hurt. He then had to go in on certain pakages because he's the only one left.

He says he dogged it after the interception. Politics. My video says he had no real chance of making the tackle after the intercept and chased the play anyway. |

I agree we should try harder to get Lloyd the ball, if for no other reason than trying to get a better return on our investment. I want to see what happens when he's thrown to five or more times in a game.

Recievers have to work to know their plays & routes, and then work to get open. As we saw in the Mia. game, throwing him the ball can have serious consequences. |

Re: Another Brandon Lloyd Thread
If Lloyd would show ANY real sign of promise, he would play. I have noticed several players commenting, "nice to see Lloyd get some work", etc. If he could just learn to fight his guts out...........ehh 724?

Re: Another Brandon Lloyd Thread
Someone told me he was on the Junkies the other day and was saying all the right things (again?). Saying he just wants to help the team while he's here, and if it means making catches, then he'll do it, if it means playing on the scout defense, then so be it.
I was told that after the interview they all were saying he was just a scapegoat and he just wasn't getting thrown the ball. He's got to change his work ethic (from what I hear it's pathetic) if he wants any shot of staying on this squad.

Re: Another Brandon Lloyd Thread
I heard the Junkies interview and he was basically singing the company line. Either he wants to make nice in Washington, or he's trying to put on a good face for other teams when they cut him loose next season.
I think the Lloyd situation is similar to the Arrington situation, in that he's obviously more talented than the guys in front of him, but his attitude has him in the doghouse. I was one of the few that was very vocal in defense of Arrington, but I don't have the same feelings for B. Lloyd. IMO, you could at least see that Lavar was giving it his all when he was on the field. Lloyd on the other hand, gives little effort. During the Junkies interview, he actually admitted to loafing after the jump ball pick in the Dolphins game... That's bullshit. Talented or not, I'd leave his ass on the bench with that kind of attitude. |

Regarding the crowd reaction, I thought the crowd reacted in almost a surprised kind of way to his catch. 1 catch, 9 yards, and here we are talking about this bum yet again. I don't get it.

He's on the team and I'd like to stay positive. It was a nice play on 2nd and 10 that helped us get a 1st down. |

Re: Another Brandon Lloyd Thread
In light of our receiving situation and given his effort on the chance he was given most recently, I think we'll have to look his way again in more instances this season, but he's likely gone next year unless he really lights it up or something...
Just keep in mind McCardell has Double the catches for 4x the yards and he's been with the team for what... 2 weeks?

Re: Another Brandon Lloyd Thread
Lloyd obviously has a bad attitude in the locker room and does not respect saunders and gibbs.......none of this has to do with his talent.....he's not a prototypical CORE redskin, so he doesnt see the field. This has pluses and minuses...the plus is that it keeps all TEAM players on the field, and limits boneheaded penalties, and guarentee's 100% on every play from every player since they are concerned with the TEAM. Llloyd is out 2nd or 3rd most talented receiver...but he obviously has the worst attitude of all the receivers. That IS what separates dallas from washington.....character
